    Default 445 diode driver help

I need help with a driver.
I am trying to make an adjustable driver from 250 - 750mA for mi 445 diode I bought at SELEM.I have made this diagram with some help from Eudaimonium.
I was told to use these for power.http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19771
But it seems to be too simple, is the the best way to make a driver.

Are you making a pointer or a lab style?

    lab style.
Its way to powerful for a hand held.

Then ditch the batteries and build a good current control PS>

Still debating on posting a generic schematic, but a search should turn up some stuff.

Just buy one of these and be done with it.

It is not trivial to make a good driver.

Search for Stanham driver here on PL.

It'll drive it, also has analog mod.

    How about this

I build some and I think is nice for your current range and the 445
    (Stan Ham diode driver)

    Cheers,

I know your younger, but unfortunately this is an expensive hobby. For what that driver does (flexmod) it is an amazing piece of equipment at a great price. Similar drivers commercially made from manufactures sell near $200.

I wish you luck with construction, but if you do not do a lot of soldering or wire wrapping building a good safe circuit just isn't possible.

I have a more simple design, but if the 5v reg fails it will go full modulation.

If that happens will it destroy the diode.
