Looks cool... please do find out about the 'latest we could stay and play', and, also, if they have 3Ø and water (*if* we'd wanna try and drag out the Laserium-rig for a few shows, and / or if anyone else wants to 'Ion it-up'...

Lastly, please see if we could get a 'deal' on a Fri/Sat 'combo-pak', or (I guess) a Sat/Sun combo... if not, (and especially if they don't have 3Ø and water...) perhaps a Sat,
there, and, a Sun., in Van Nuys, in 'Ionlandia'?

Let's keep this stoked, guys... I will touch base with Ivan on the 'morrow...

I'll be there as well, wherever it will be unless I'm dead or in jail.
Nothing impressive to bring along, but would like to meet some of the other members.
I'm in Riverside so it's a for sure "make-able" trip.

I also found http://pollutionstudios.com/stage.html. They have 4200 sq. ft shooting stage!

I sent them an email... here's what I got:

    Greg-

At the moment, we have several weekends in January available and would be happy to help you out. Would you like to come down to our stage this week for a walkthrough?. Our usual rate for a day on stage is $1100, plus extra if you need the 600amp cam lok electrical service. We also charge a bit extra for late night events (don't know if you fall into that category). However, I'd love to hear more about your meeting before I quote you a final price. I do a lot of work in film lighting (I'm in the Set Lighting Technicians union) so I can probably throw you a decent professional discount. There might be some opportunities to do part of the rental in trade as well, if you can think of anything that fits in?

Nice... the 'long/narrow, w/high-ceilings' is always a good-combo... *however* - it's a fair bit of coin... (depending on how may 'paid attendees' we get.. ie: worst-case (cost-wise) if we get 20 paid-peeps, that's $55. a pop... if we only get 10 Payers??? Eeek...) Here's a thought:

Perhaps I / We (DSLI) can offer them something (ie: discount on a future sho / Fx-booking with one of their Clients?) Dunno, just 'thinkin out loud'....

Also, *if* we tried to do one day, there (or elsewhere) and one day at our Van Nuys shop (for any Laserium-shows and/or Ion-work / shows, etc - basically, anything needing 3Ø / water) we can cut any utilities cost down significantly... cause, again, our building will be *free* - I'd only think to ask like, maybe $50. from everyone, collectively (that's *total*, NOT each) , if we used water and 3Ø, all-day / nite...

*but*, if we're all (collectively) dropping $1100+ on a place, for one nite... well, I suppose I could 'eat' whatever costs for 3Ø and water we'd run-up in VNY.... Dig?

Perhaps a conference call between the 'elders'??...

    Lemme know...

Jon if you sre back in town hit me up. We should do a survey of what it would take to get VN ready. If not we should definitely get a spot January is right around the corner and there has been great interest so far.

Is this LEM going to happen? Are there any more concrete details available?

I vote for one nite at 'Pollution Studios' there, but we'd *really* need to determine how many can definitely make it / are paying, here, so we can accurately calc costs...

So, is it Survey time?? I suppose the answers to that will be 'date-based', so: Greg (?) / instinct - can you find out from your guy, there, what weekends are still-open, in Jan? Do they require a 50% deposit to hold / book a date? And, again, what might we (DSLI) possibly be able to offer them (ie: a small laser-useage as 'sfx' for a future-Client / in-house production) to get them to consider a 'reasonable discount'?

Lemme know. Ivan, call me up when you can stop by the shop to 'eval' what we might do to use the area for at least one day / nite for Ion-based shows (ie: 'true' Laserium shows...) - IS anyone even interested in those? Lemme know...

    Stay Tuned, Marc...

    "Greg-
January is pretty open at the moment - most of our clients book only a few weeks I advance. We do require a deposit to hold any date. Want to call me this week? Any afternoon works.

EDIT: A $500 Deposit is required, but if needed to postpone, they may be able to work something out.
