Must be the pictures, i'd say it was approximately the same size as Surfleet. Maybe a tad narrower, but certainly as long.
Are there comfy chairs available?
Hehe... I'm sure we can find some nice comfy chairs. Do you want the 'high seat' type that are easy to get out of too?
Wouldn't 9 RGB's be a little OTT (again, the hall may be bigger than appears in the pics).
Maybe... What do you think? Five perhaps?
I can bring along my scrims to add to the experience (plus a 25 Metre "ILDA" cable if needs be but I think that would be covered).
Scrim would be good, not sure how we'd hang it though. I don't think the trustees would be too keen on a couple of 'six inchers' holding it up
What's the parking situation like?
Ample free parking outside the hall.
Looks like something I'd like to attend.
I'm hoping most of the other 'regulars' will think so too.
After all the rumblings about lack of any dedicated time devoted to shows it's nice to at least attempt to put something like this together.
But would we have enough shows to fill 2 days?
Maybe, maybe not. But I guess any spare time will be taken up chatting, playing with software, etc. etc... I'm happy to go with any suggestions as to what else we could do... dancing girls anyone
And I'll have to remember to take off my heels if I'm tempted to dance on that shiny floor .........
The hall's been open for about 18 months. It was originally built many years ago for the benefit of the people of the town and was originally run by the local 'town' council. However, in latter years the main Wakefield District Council took it over when many of the urban district councils were taken over by the bigger councils (some would say 'stole' it from the people of the Town). Due to lack of investment it was allowed it to fall in to disrepair until it eventually closed. After a long fight, during which time it was left to rot, it's been claimed back by the people of the Town and re-furbished with the help of lottery funding. It's now run as a Charity, by a board of trustees and they take good care of it. In the first year there were well over 18,000 people through it's doors. So, I wouldn't worry about your shoes, as long as we respect the place we'll be absolutely fine
I'll need to get a date booked as soon as possible due to the fact it gets very well booked.
Jem
P.S. Yep, I agree, a few different computers with a variation in software would be good
I don't think we'd have the same problems wiring the projectors now that the 'proper' interface boards are here. That's what they were designed for - easily linking up many projectors ... Who could bring some of those ???
Also, i'll update the first post with possible attendees as people show an interest.
