I was wondering if you could reverse the foot on the adjustable mounts so it would fit on the base plate and not have to use the little added platform.

congratulations on getting blue light...i have yet to get light out of my units Too busy working on mechanical stuff to actually make a laser.
ah yes i had to widen the base plate, i didnt do my measurements correct at the designing stage. the orginal design was 50mm wide but i had to add an exta 10mm to make the mirror mounts fit.

    thanks

what is wrong with a very tiny dab of epoxy in the corners, adjust for nice beam and let dry...I guess you might want to adjust it later or something???

I think I am a bit borderline OCD - rather than make up a little platform like that, I would start the base plate again

Probably worrying for nothing but don't you think the lasorbs might get a little hot on top of the heat sink over time?

I was wondering if maybe you'd be better gluing a small piece of ceramic (smaller than the lasorb body) onto the heatsink then gluing the lasorb to that to make a small stand off.

Alternatively you could bond them vertically (contacts upwards) to the side of the base plate directly behind the diode housing and this would allow much shorter leads - a few mm only, plus it would take the lasorbs off the potenitally hot top of the heat sink entirely:
