All permissions etc are now in place so there is nothing to stop us in St Helens on Sat night....must finish the laser now
Just a few jobs to do - its now got a working shutter wired through one of my ilda interface boards so the shutter acts under control of the software and interlocks plus there is now various indicators showing the laser status and emission status - theres just no hole in the case for the beams to come out!!!
Can't wait to see it in action - come along and have a look if you are not too far away

It would be great to have some photos posted after the event, including some from a distance if possible

here she is all finished and ready for action tonight - pictures and maybe vids will be posted in due course.
Conditions are not perfect as the air is quite clear at present but you never know this may improve (=get worse) later.
Will be onsite from 7:30 and will be firing it up around 8 for the beams to commence propper at around 9 - we will be running til midnight - or maybe a little longer
    Cant wait

    Thumbs up

    Midnight !?!
I hear that St Helens folks don't start coming out till about 11:00 - 12:00
So you're going for the "Early Doors" crowd.

I'll be safely tucked in beddy byes at that time anyways but good luck.

Just got back from a jolly good "first date" with Le CuBr

Cheer to Rob + Kev for a good night.
Double cheers to Rob for "sorting shit out"

I didn't manage to go too far astray to take pics, so only a few attached. I'm sure Rob et. al. can chime in with better ones

    Cheerio!

The hotspot on that church tower looks awesome:

Can imagine newspaper headline. Church clocktower burns down in mysterious fire.
    Martian ray guns suspected!!

Tut tut, boozing on the job Rob!

You look like some kind of advanced sniper with that thing poking out the window.

Here are a couple of fots that were sent to me last night by my Pal Huddy - the beam through Beechams clock tower is the best despite a little bit of wobble.

Expect a Law Suit from The Hunchback of St Helens.
He only had one good eye and you buggers have blinded him in that one now !!
