I'm always cautious about talking about builds openly as not everyone may have access to every build.

All I will say openly is that with QS the number of bugs found that I know of has diminished massively and they're now quite rare. Release I would say is quite close but ultimately will happen when everything major is resolved and Pangolin are happy with quality.

As I said above, QS 2.0 is available to buy now with the new FB3-QS DAC so for anyone desperate to get your hands on one, there's no reason why you shouldn't buy one and just update your software at release.

    Default QS2 Progress

I've been using QS2 to build a show for the Pink Floyd tribute act I work with. This involves a combination of using DMX for lighting and a couple of green lasers I have, as well as driving my 2 1W RGBs through 2 FB3s, so it's giving the software a bit of an extended workout :-)

There will be a new candidate build coming soon. This is to fix a problem with QuickCapture cues that are routed to multiple projectors not playing back correctly. The problem was found and sorted earlier this morning.

There are a couple of outstanding issues I'd like to see fixed:

    • QuickDMX cues within QuickTimeline cues don't loop, they just play once.
    • Combining QuickTarget and QuickDMX cues causes a crash
    • There's no way to control DMX playback, it just loops indefinitely (would like to specify number of times a sequence plays through, and whether it holds or stops when it ends).

Bill seems to be keen to iron out the wrinkles before official release, so I'd expect to see the first 2 addressed. The 3rd one may be more of an issue. But that's my list of potential blockers.

    You're using QuickTarget, yes?

You have to go into Settings/QuickTarget Settings and start enabling stuff. There's quite a bit to tick before you start seeing things. Each target has to be turned on.

No safety as they're potentially highly dangerous.

Go to the top menu bar and click "Settings" then "Quick Targets Beams Settings".

You'll get up a safety dialogue. Agree. You should now find the Target page indicating active (at least for this session), however you still won't be able to display anything.

The beams will only display if you activate them individually in the set up page.

So choose a target beam effect you want from the targets page eg beam 4, then go to the set up page. Click that beam number, then when the room is safe, click "Activate Target Beam" at the top of the page. That cue will then become active. To de-activate click the de-activate button beside it. If you haven't selected the cue phsyically in the Targets Page and left it playing then it won't immediately display. To display it, click the cue in the target window whilst main output is enabled (obviously checking the room is safe 1st). You'll have to then go back to the setup dialogue to move it around to hit the target.

Warning: If you clicked the desired cue in the Target Page 1st and had output enabled BEFORE the cue was enabled in the set up page, then when you click the beam activation dialogue in the setup page the beam will become active immediately. This is obviously so you can move the beam around to hit the target and to stop you having to go back and forth between the pages as described above. However obviously care has to be taken to ensure the room is safe BEFORE this point so the room should be cleared before any kind of set up procedure is initiated.
