    Do not get me started on the "quality" of bug reporting
    Oh, I hear ya!!

    Job logged on system: 'Report didn't work, please help its urgent!'
    Me: What report (out of the 200 or so available)? What parameters did you input? Output (error messages, blank screen, etc)? Screen shots? Anything? Throw me a bone here!

    All too familiar, I have found out about bugs in my software by reading a review in the trade press before now!

    http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html has some good advice on how to write bug reports that are actually useful.

    That's a great link Dan! copyright 1999 shows it has been that way and will unfortunately continue to be that way (hopefully to a lesser degree) into the future.
