I'm reaching here, since I've never been on the "venue operator" end of things before..
Does the fact that we're doing this as a "private" event impact how much you would want to advertise?
I agree that our potential show list should appeal to a wide audience, so as long as it advertised as a private "invitation only" event, "call for details", etc., I assume we would be OK (

).
Also -
I think our 'stuff' is going to take up considerably more space than the usual entertainment at the venue!!
So, perhaps a limited admission to "the first x number of people" needs to be considered?
With that in mind -
If we're still running this as no admission / donations only, perhaps it would qualify for a community event promo at a couple of the radio stations?
