Did you tried to connect to the QM2000.net with your WIFI card deactivated on your laptop? I remember I had a trouble with that.

Also you need to deactivate the windows firewall, and to put the security level to the lowest one. This worked for me.

And can you just ping the QM2000.net?

The patch has been installed, it is only for performance issues, not connectivity issues.

I contacted the seller and he says it it still under warranty. That would be great if this is an issue with the QM2000.net (and not my setup). Either way I'm not going to open the box as to not void the warranty if it exists.

I have tried to connect the the QM2000.net with just about every setting possible.
I disabled the firewall, the WIFI card, and all antivirus software.

I have tried a USB network adapter and onboard LAN card.

I tried Win7 for about two weeks and then I put a fresh install on Win XP and tried to connect for over 8 hours.

So only two constants are my laptop and the QM2000.net . Tomorrow I will try and connect to the net box on a different computer (one that is using Win XP) and if that doesn't work I'll have to see if this is really under warranty.

Thanks for all your help so far...

That was not my understanding, but since I'm not running Windows 7 myself, I admit I could be mistaken.

However, at this point I suggest you contact Pangolin directly. You've already invested more than enough time trying to troubleshoot it yourself, so clearly it's not "something stupid" that you forgot.
