I like this concept, beautiful work!

I've seen "old" overlay projectors with up to 4 heads. The overlay had to be good, because each head was one color. Most just have very good analog size and position controls. If you really, really wanted to do it right, a hardware UGC for every head other then the master is desirable. The heads of course, have better then average mechanical positioning using pivots or a turret mount.

The only trick was such projectors often had a card that generated a ramp and pedestal tuning signal for equalizing galvo speed. I have one of the cards, and it would easily be done with a frame today.

What is neater is the possibility of bringing back laser 3d, using two heads and slightly different camera views. The goggles have improved enough that it could look very, very good.

I have actually been playing around with polarisation 3D just using a couple of sets of diodes into a PBS cube with the diodes individually modulated, then off to a single scan head via a wave plate to make CW/CCW circular polarised light.
I see no reason why multiple scan heads would not work if the optics were set up to polarise appropriately.

The nice thing about the diode rigs is that you no longer need to mess with a EO cell to make this work.

With a polarisation preserving screen it works rather well, and the googles from the local cinema seem to be just fine.

Now the artwork is a problem (I am working on a Blender importer so I can import all that stuff).

Incidentally, a beam show projected onto a scrim or onto a cloud of smoke can do interesting things if you flip the polarisation with each 'frame'.

    Regards, Dan.

    Do tell, I'm curious.

I miss laser 3D, I've seen some really beautiful examples.

    Also very interested.

Oh and um what file format do you need to be imported?

Yes, this can already be done with our system and already we have customers who are doing this very thing, plus a whole lot more...

Once you get your system (once it has been built), then you will be able to try things like this.

Anyway, great ideas. Glad we can already do this!

    Yes Im really curious.

I have high expectations of it.

And very cool that pangolin is able to do this

Also I have almost mastered a new method of character animating that is much better as in quality.
To just keep it simple without too much detail: it's called CAT which stands for Character Animation Toolkit.
