if you put a standard aixiz lens on a 660 diode you get a oval beam shape, and there isnt alot of power at the edges.

so what you need to do is clip the beams slightly on the short aixis.

im at work so bit of a naff pic but like the below

    No! I mean it!

You are the one that introduced my to knife edging in the first place! I have visited your laserman site many times since...

Besides, I have forgotten all about the diodes you murdered.

least someone uses my site lol.

the trick is to get them as close together as possible, clipping enough of the beam to get rid of the small dead area but not enough to start loosing lots of power.

the dead area is only like 15mw so its no beam deal.

Right, got it. I was not settling for any clipping at all. I'll have another tweak tomorrow.

    Thanks mate.

This is something new for me, I have never done this before. I am enjoying the whole process, let me tell you! It will be a shame when the projector is completed, but I guess a whole lot a new fun then begins, creating shows and using it!

    Cool

Just be aware that if the base plate is grounded in your projector your diodes will fry (the driver controls current on the negative side and the LOC diode is case negative).

How did you isolate the diodes while using dave's mounts?
