Edison, great timing! I like how you released the new improved case design immediately after this group buy was finished.
I kid, the new design looks great!
Thanks!!! I shared my old design with Mr willing so that people had a chance to a good case. Basics are the same except that the struths are diverent so i don,t need to use bolts anymore. And i added a windowcover the same as MR willing did and some others in the market like Kvant have. The rest is pretty much the same.
The people that joined this groupbuy get it. You need a good case to start with. Expencive lasers need a good solid case![]()
Austin the case turned out beautiful! I checked to make sure all the major parts are there and did a cursory inspection of the little bits. Thanks again Austin. I can't wait to start the new build with this...

I too, only received 6 of the 8 M6x12mm bolts and 6 washers but was able to get a couple M6 x 16mm at the hardware store which should work fine. They're stainless steel but, nothing a little dab of black paint can't take care of. Still amazed with how great these turned out. :-)
I finally picked my sorry ass up from the floor and assembled my case today. I too was missing 2 x 6mm for the corners, but not biggy as I have a great fastener shoppe (Ye Olde) around the corner.
Nice case! Quality is very very good. Thanks for arranging this Mr Willing!
It's just a shame the Stanwax ILDA board doesn't bolt right up to the rear; or provide an aperture for the D9... How much for the new improved rear panel?
No excuses now, I am off and building my first projector!
PS. Suggestions for future builds:
- Don't provide full cut-out for fans, mill slots instead (no grill required then).
- Maybe just provide for 80mm fans as they are much more common.
- Velcro strips around vents for foam intake filters.

This space for rent.
I screwed up. I was drilling and tapping holes in the baseplate when the 6-32 tap broke off. The break is a little less than half way in the plate, and 1mm of the end of the tap is sticking out the other end. Anyone have any suggestions for getting it out?
Take a hamer and a center with a flat point and carefully hamer it out the way it came in. Be careful with the first 2 hits.![]()
The tap didn't even move a micrometer. Now where can I get some nitric acid?![]()
