I'll also check my Edmonds glass, I think mine is 3", if so I may grab a 2" one from you.
I wouldn't worry about the anodizing when it comes to drilling and tapping, its a very thin layer. If it was a hard anodize it might give you a problem but these won't be. Once you break through the anodizing the cast plate is pretty soft and easy to work with. I would not let that get in the way of having a nice black baseplate.

If you have the 3" glass you will need to get a 2". The 3" would not fit on the inside without milling the baseplate.

I have not heard from quite a few people on what options they want. I will send out PM's this weekend to those I have not heard. I can wait a while to order the glass windows since they are in the USA but I want to place the order to Stanwax laser for the ILDA boards pretty soon.

This is going to be an exhausting (yet satisfying) few weeks of hard work. Just as I am about to get started on the project my job wants me to work 60-70 hrs a week. But I would rather be complaining about working too much than too little.

    Question

    Hi MisterWilling,

I've been following this thread since you started it and it's looking better and better each time I check.
A few posts back you mention there will be a couple of cases up for grabs so, if still possible, I'd like you to put me down for one of them including the 3 brass flex mounts, window, aperture cover, black anodized base plate and Stanwax ILDA board + cable.
I'd be more than glad to send you the payment right away if you can still fit me in.

    Domingo.

I had originally planned on making plenty of extras but now there are none left. I can sell you one of the projectors I had planned on building for myself though. I didnt really need three anyways . Send me a PM with your paypal address and I will invoice you. Thanks!

Pending payments for two individuals the group buy will be closed.

I'm in for the window GB.
Any more info about the ILDA breakout board? Will a regular db-25 panel-mount connector mount to the holes you are making, too?

Drlava, a standard db-25 will work. I'm using the internal mount ILDA board so it actually uses a db-25 extension cable to mount to the board then to the rear panel of the case. That way the board can be secured to the base-plate with less risk of damaging it.

See this page for more information http://shop.stanwaxlaser.co.uk/ilda-...board-55-p.asp The board will make your internal wiring much easier. Adding the additional safety features required by the CDRH will also be simplified.

I have sourced some rubber feet. They are what I used on my last projector and seemed to work well. Unless anyone has a better suggestion I think I will be using these http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...R-FEET//1.html
Just thought I would get some feedback before making the purchase.

Just some advice from a die-hard Edison case owner:
For the people that use high drivers that will only fit when you mount the fans OUTSIDE of the case, you need higher feet, or do what i did, use a bolt, nut and washer and mount the feet so that it's 4cm high.

For people that use lower sized drivers that will enable you to fit all fans IN the case, there is no problem.
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.

Personally, I'd choose some more in the line of these:

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...ER-FOOT/1.html (They only seem to be available in grey though)

They look like softer rubber with a better grip and leave a little more space underneath for ventilation.

    Domingo.
