Right man, but I gave an incorrect cite, sorry.

What I had in mind was this http://www.gamedev.net/reference/art...rticle1698.asp by Abrash, not Carmack (Right company, wrong man).

Also the BSP FAQ from SGI is well worth the time, as are all volumes of the 'Graphics Gems' series by Andrew Glassner.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Regards, Dan.

I also caused some confusion in my previous post.
I was typing that with my iphone and it was sort of lagging and being slow for that moment.

I didn't really feel like fixing everything

Thanks for the link and I will have a look.

    Alot of pages.

One thing to keep aware of, in the first stage I will not aim for maximised optimization.
but first attempt for actually output.
then I either keep on going from that point with optimizing and adding features.

Or I will start all over again but know what to keep in mind.

SGI is an abbreviation for: Silicon Graphics Institute?
or SGI means Serious Games Institute?

SGI = Silicon Graphics Inc (Or latterly International), a one time maker of workstation 3D hardware of the serious sort.

Now sadly but a pale shadow of what it once was.

Ignore all the low level assembler in that Abrash reference, the ideas in the last third of the thing are more important and you will not be ready for hand hacking assembler inner loops for a while.

    Regards, Dan.

    Woa Silicon Graphics Inc

I didn't know they still exist.
I remember SGI had a own pc brand.
And 3D games on the N64 were powered by SGI
