One thing that is a plus for these Wafer type sensors is that you can
shine a laser beam on any part of the Active Surface and the readings
    will be the same.
With the famous OPHIR 20C head.. if you are not in the exact center
of the Active surface you will get erroneous readings..

Can you provide a part number for the TEC you are using?

I dont have a P/N but the small-ish TEC (13mm sq) came from a melles griot optic assy .. here's a pic of my home-brew meter that I've been using ..

I actually used two very different TECs and despite their variation they both worked. The lower current model did produce twice the V difference. The P/Ns from Custom Thermoelectric (443)926-9135 were; 19811 9231 02CN1 and 19911 5M31 18CZ.

Again, a little thermal grease on the back and some RTV to hold it to the Al block.

    Good luck!

I second that question, i need a schematic of the amp circuit, since the original post was from 2011 of lpf i highly doubt i could find it among the mess.
I would like to try and find the very thin TEC that is in some lasers and in laserbee's meter, they are about half the thickness and have a rated voltage of about 3 volts or so, i realy realy dont want to scrap one of my Crystalaser units for it's TEC, they are 11.5x11.5mm and 3mm thick and for the life of me i can't find TEC's that size, they are about the same size that laserbee uses. i would use one of his units but can't afford it. one note on these types of meters, don't have the cooling fan blowing air onto it. I was realigning a 1 watt dpss and was getting erratic readings from a friends meter, turned out it was the cooling fan, damn fan used counter rotating blades and sounded more like a small turbine then a fan but the exit was forward and was hitting the TEC sensor

Even though MarioMaster's LPF girly-man Avatar is a childish shot at our LPM products...
Here is a link to his original schematic that you are looking for.

Why not forgo the paint? The power levels of current diodes are high enough that 80% + reflectance should still allow power readings and the ceramic of a typical TEC should handle a tremendous amount of heat without damage.
