after endless hours of mental exercises, i come to the same conclusion. riser blocks are absolutely out of the question for me. if you can't get 10000% of the machining perfect, it is better to use another set of mirror mounts and align everything nice and easy. maybe even toss a couple of optical rails in there somewhere to move the mounts back and forth
