hm, around 6 curies in total. I need to check my documentation which I don't have with me at the moment. I've read the DOE handbook, too..

Doubleplusgood! You and I are gonna hafta do some 'trading', Brother! You like giant (Sequoia) pinecones? Also, got some loverly herk diamonds you might like...
Too bad most of my 'rock collection' is still down in El Sal, waiting for a boat-ride... one of these months...

    Anyhoo, Sir Craig:

RE: the tritium vials - I'd suggest this: Bring nice, clear photos of the vials, to the LEM, and 'trade the photos' (vs the actual vials) - like a 'baseball card' - and you can make the trade / sale arrangements via mail / etc with your prospectives...

Yes, I realize it's probably a 'hazardous materials' / special-handling item if mailed, etc but I'm also quite sure you could find an ultra-secure way (ie: piece of surgical-tube inside a foam core, inside a 3/8"-walled alum-tube, (I have plenty of scrap) w/ rubber-stopper-sealed ends, etc that would take an M-1 tank running over it to 'break it', etc) and just 'get it done' - this-way, we avoid having *any* possible complications IF somehow, someone - not you, certainly - were to drop one at the event... and to Brians' point, something like this (IF something ever-happened) is not gonna be something you can very-easily 'plead Avo about'... (ask us what that 'means' at the LEM..)

Just a thought...The rest of the goodies:

    jon,

yeah! i'm not going to bring the really rare stuff.. ever seen the fossilized core to a geyser or a geode that grew triangular because it formed between giant crystals?

    here's some pics: https://www.facebook.com/album.php?i...43&aid=2039442

    want some dino bone?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    sounds reasonable to me.

I just got the smaller keychain ones in today, and can bring them, at least!

I have a handfull of small-frame, air-cooled, argons available. Maybe I'll just bring pictures

Most of the argon lasers here do not come as "turn key" systems. You will have to add a plug to suit your mains, add a cord to the fan, decide if you want the fan permanently attached to the lase, and build or buy a remote for most of them. There are a few that have the fan attached and/or have an internal remote you can use. If that is the case, I will specifically mention it

All of these are fully tested and measured with a Scientech 365 LPM

All are set up to run on 110V mains. Some of the PSU's are switchable or internally switched for 220V ranges. If you need/want 220V, make sure that you mention it to me so we can be sure that you can run the laser.

The prices are plus shipping. Argon systems are heavy and large. Shipping can vary widely depending on where you are and how big of a hurry you are in. Be warned. International shipping on these systems is expensive

Of course, if you pick it up at the LEM = no shipping

    20mW 488nm JDSU = $125, plus shipping

    35mW 488nm JDSU = $125, plus shipping

    50mW 488nm Spectra Physics = $150, plus shipping

    50mW 488nm Cyonics (JDSU) = $150, plus shipping

60mW 488nm Cyonics (JDSU) with fan attached and integral power adjustment = $200, plus shipping

12mW 457nm JDSU; This is known as the "violet line." It is the deepest blue line in the argon. = $200, plus shipping

60mW Multi-Line Cyonics; with fan attached and internal power control = $250, plus shipping

80mW Multi-Line Ion Laser Technolgy; This one has a switch on the laser that switches it from idle (min power) to run (full power) = $275, plus shipping

    >100mW Multi-Line JDSU = $350, plus shipping

    >100mW Multi-Line JDSU = $350, plus shipping

    Peace,
    dave
