Default JDSU 2214-40ML cylindrical laser head

I'm left with this tube I got from the member Mariomaster. Shipping overseas must have thrown the laser out of alignment. I am not sure what to do with it. Preferably, I want to have this repaired by someone, since I failed and if I try more, i might make it even worse. In case noone can be found to offer their services, I might even trade or sell this tube. The laser was working before Mariomaster sent it to me and it did about 135 mW max. It's a shame to let such a tube without use. Tubes with such max power are rare these days, aren't they? In case someone offers himself to do the service I will pay shipping both ways, plus whatever they ask, only if the total cost stays <$200 I dunno, I could use some thoughts as to what to do with it.

P.S Check the thread I made in the advance technical discussion for details about the laser.

    Thanks for looking

    Thumbs up

    Hi!
Ive got 4 heads just like that one,Ive had to aline 2 of them. Does it emit any light? If its not too far out of alinement its only takes a min or 2, but to get to the OC is a pain...
If you can post some pics of it running.

If you are comfortable working around High voltage and have a steady hand, then yes you can!
The hard part is getting to the OC.
I tell you what,Ill do a step by step video on how to fix it and Ill post it on youtube for you.
But fiirst just to let you know..there is a chance that you can break the OC coupler off and kill the laser But if done right you could get more power out of it. Mine is doing 158mws.@ 10 amps, which I wouldnt run it very long at that power.. But @ 8 amps. im getting 140mw.
    Before we start,you will need..
A phillips screw driver, and something thats plastic like a plastic rod just something that will not conduct, and have a pair of niddle nose pliers handy too.
If you have a power meter too that will help, or defraction gratting.
Give me a few mins and Ill shoot and post a video.
