Default Potting and other nasty deterrents from C

I have heard rumor that C is putting potting behind the diodes and other nasty deterrents to keep people from harvesting them.
I am currently trying to get out said diodes for a group buy on this site and have run into some issues so far it seems that the tab holding the laser diode assembly to the optical path housing is glued on.
From all of the pictures and videos I had seen on line you just needed to remove the back cover and then unscrew the one screw located on the tab that has a guide pin on either side and the assembly including the heatsink would come right out. Look at the picture I posted it looks like they have a security head on the ones on the out side I circled the one on the bottom of the picture in red that I have seen in other pictures intact when the unit is removed, zoom in on the picture.
I have been rocking the assembly back and forth to see if its glue on the tab but so far it seems to be coming up but I am not able to remove it!!!!!
I just hope If and when I finally remove it that there is no potting behind the diode where the mylar strip is with the solder points.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Default Tried to clean up the post a bit

Ok, that should be easier to read edited it down. Yes was in a bit of a panic this morning, and I still am. Just thought I may have been missing something and wanted to see if any one else ran into this, but it looks like I am on my own here.

    Default Security tools

Yes it may be I have made tools to extract that kind of head before you take a flat screw driver and dremel a slot in the center until its wide enough to get around the the screw. but I will try removing the heat sink before trying anything else at this point.
I looks like two screw hold it on this way I can see if there is potting behind the diodes.
I am not sure that they would redesign the guide pins into security screws though that would be quite a change in manufacturing more likely they would epoxy the tab making that harder to remove.

Looks like an external torx to me.

Default Doc and white light are correct

Yes indeed it is a external torx screw and I got a kit at Harbor freight tools that had one very close but I needed to dremel it a little and just got enough bite to loosen them up. Stand by while I button the unit back up I want to see those babies light up before I pull them to be continued.
