Man the next alpha is loud. I was talking to some one when I was near a stack. It started to vibrate my vocal cords. Made my voice sound like it was running thru a vocal processor.

I just discovered a new old band!

    Sopwith Camel!

Hello Hello is a good place to start. Lots of other cool stuff.

Perfect mid-sixties 12 string twang and classic left, right, or mono mix!

Would you believe this guy has been to my house?

I know the drummer from his solo album.

Right now, for me that would be Iron Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name. from The Number Of The Beast CD at around 95db

my set up consists of an Onkyo TX-NR709 AVR connected to a Luxman M117 power amp that in turn drives a pair of updated Polk Audio SDA SRS 2.3 they have been updated RDO194 soft done tweeters and the dimensional array has had some updates. My sub is an 18 inch driver in a 21x21x21 cube and thats driven by a bridged Onkyo M-504. I bridged it by using a MiniDSP and knocked one side 180 out of phase, with this setup for me it's the best i have ever had and i will be getting a second 18 inch sub, craigsub ss18.1. SDA are like nothing i have heard before, it is a very nice acoustic trick that makes the sound stage wider and as with every thing there are people that love these and people that hate them. The line driver array does not work well for some rooms and to get the sda effect to work they need to be a certain distance from the corners of the room and back wall and they cant be toed in not to mention they are almost the size of a coffin, sometimes i think they need some monkeys to worship them like in "2001 a space odyssey"
As i type this i changed over to Philip Glass "Heroes" Symphony, "Abdulmajid" The bass with this track i am getting to about 99db at my sitting position.
If i push the system and with heavy bass i have attained 105db C Weighted on my meter but have no clue for treble as the mic drops off too fast

and i do Have my one laser projecting a lissajou of the music using gs310 galvos
now V-2 Schneider is playing, Philip Glass is ood but dang neat music

There are two woofer boxes on each side, stacked. Each one has (4) 8 inch woofers inside; (2) facing out and (2) facing in. There is a small box holding the woofers together in an isobaric arrangement. The resonator box volume is about 7 cubic feet each. They are -3dB at about 18Hz.

I was able to measure my own Thiel Small parameters using.....

    A Sound Card!

I wrote an app back in 1998 that makes a test signal and I use that to measure frequency vs. voltage. I play the test signal through a power amp into a 1000 ohm resister in series with the woofer. Then I record the signal right off the terminals of the woofer. I use that to measure frequency vs. impedance and that gives me all the parameters I need to make the perfect box and tune the port.
