WTB:RED LASER for RGB
Not a misplaced post I just wanted to share how desperate I am for a RED LASER.
Some wide galvos moving and green and blue doing their job. A little FB3 masterminding every move. No red for my projector yet. KVANT pricing is too hush-hush (you gotta know somebody for these numbers and they are not small), edison working away like a Christmas elf on 9's 12's and who knows what else,Andycon cranking out a few lasers in his sleep..maybe 4 or 5 a day... talk of little reds all over but many too small for my needs.300EVIL is busy dusting off his EXTRA-LARGE piece of Laser history or finding 4-8foot long lasers(at garage sales?) capable of knocking out Ghadaffi from 14 miles away. Laserwave seems to be slipping off the map was there alignment issues? Still others with kits...but...not for the light-hearted with-out proper testing/building stations and all of their tools. Clock is ticking away as MisterWilling construes a suitable Case by edison. I can't finish one so I begin a second. Yes a second RGB so that which I tried and decided against using in #1 would not got to waste.
All at at once I had an idea....yeah .... what if I....c'mon am I really that desparate? Yeah... so I run not walk to the shack where I keep the old TV and radio vacuum tubes. Yes I'm well stocked in an "analog" kinda way.... A little helium a little neon no blanking but would it work on a currently open-faced projector? It does and it did...710mw of 532nm,750mw of 445nm and 2....yeah that's all I had but a 2mw Red he-ne. And ok it almost works. I turned all the other ones as low as I could beamed it over with a very Fine OSLS(their newest batch) dichro and BAM!!!! RBG4me!!!! A temporary fix but how cool. It looked real other than the noticeable red spider webs all of the wall from non-blanking. Now I can sleep a little better. This where DNAR or somebody will say "Harden-Up!!!....this thread is useless without a PIC" but I know not how to post a Pic..that trick ...that all the senior peeps like CDBEAM can do in a dream.
And what the heck some props to SPEC for a fine place to wine.~ jimmy
