    and...
    you do not answered my questions about software
    no i never set in on sleep mode.

    i have used LDS, wich andrew sells.
    I already tried to find if he had a solution but it doesnt seem to be LDS.

    also just not opening any software while riya is attached, then open a application, wont make it work. any application. windows is not in sleep mode or whatever....but with some luck it does work. its just random.

    Have you tried the powered external hub option? It's possible your laptop has an occasional power glitch in USB power. Also, if your projector internally uses any ILDA pins other than the standard XYRGB +/-, ground, and shutter, interlock loop, you should verify that they aren't shorted or some other odd thing internally, as this could potentially cause an issue.

    what chipset does your pc use ??
    in the past i have had a lot of trouble with amd chipset and the usb audio filter driver
    had to diable it in the registry to solve my problems.

    Well here goes bumping the topic.
    my problem has not been solved yet and its driving me crazy.
    Although windows pushes out the riya less then before, its still bugging me that i cant simply reconnect it. It really takes over a minute, or two minutes to finally let the notebook regonise it.

    i bought the cheapest external powered usb hub i could find. But it still worked without external power....but even with the outlet cable plugged in, the notebook keeps rejecting the riya cable on random times.

    To answer posts above:
    @drlava: external hard drives dont fail or are disconnected. its only the riya cable.

    @badger: it has a Intel HM55 Chipset.

    Have you tried going directly to your computer and omitting the USB hub. I will bet that is the problem. Not all USB devices work the same or have the same requirements.

    Don't use the hub and instead connect directly to the computers usb port.
