See, now you've got me all confused. LPC815 is listed as 660nm, but the other one is 650nm, so how are they comparable?

sorry, power is compareable to LPC-815 not wavelength so around 200-250mW

shipped the others that paid.

Price!

$10 for 300mW of 660....While 640 may be ~4 times visibly brighter, but where have you seen a 75mW 640 diode for $10 ?

Yep, I get that at the lower power ratings, but I suppose my query is with the guys who I know are running projectors that really need 1 watt+ of 640 to be useful.

6 or 8 diodes of 660 isn't going to do the business, so I was wondering if it was just a precursor to getting the Opnext diodes, or if it was just for adding another wavelength into the mix?

Also, why the sudden interest in 660 again? Given how much of it you need, surely its simpler to use less of/lower power of 640/637nm?

Or are you all building multidiode red modules using cheap 660 diodes for testing, and then they'll become 640 monsters once you've tested they work right?

640nm isn't too orange but I preffer a deeper red. Besides, the power, wavelength, cost factor of 640 diodes does not sit well with me.

I prefer a mix. A broadband red module will give deeper colours. The same when mixing 473 and 445nm. And it saves money

just received the DHL package with LPC826's 105 PCS availible!

LPC826 outputs 250-300mW at 550-600mA diode dies at 650mA
used a cheap lens so probally a little more output with a good lens

is that all thats done to test a diode these days, give it some power until it dies and thats the power it will output.

if it dies at 650ma i wonder how long it will last at 600ma?!

I wonder the same Andy. It will take time to establish reliability at any current. For those running diodes in parallel this is a critical detail!

I'll report back in 2 years.
