    That was fun.

Mega thanks to Platinum for organizing this and everyone who showed up ready to saturate that space with the magic of laser light. Inspiration levels are topped off after this weekend. Some highlights for me:

-Daguin's HeNe collection. We discovered 3 distinct lines coming out of one of the orange units, and the mode hopping bare-tube green HeNe made everyone go, "Woah."
-Laserbiker's battery powered projector which elegantly fuses form and function into an absolutely beautiful piece of hardware.
-300EVIL and Blowfly's Double Projector Laser Spectacular.
    -Platinum's Cyan Monster.
-Swamidog and Sugeek's dueling lumia projectors.
    -Jeff's White Fusion Tunnel Machine.
-The laserist coolant supplied by the brewery across the street.
    -Good people.

Extra special thanks for making my girlfriend feel so welcome and putting so many smiles on her face. Now she wants a gravity gun to bend the beams.

And even though it didn't quite turn out quite as expected (all that laserist coolant may have had something to do with it) thanks PJ for:

    Woot!

    Thank you Platinum
and all who attended to make this such a great event. I was blown away by some of the big lasers--- that copper-bromide was awesome. There were so many beautiful lasers there. The collection of Neon lasers in all their unique colors. was beautiful. The music was great.
It was awesome! It brought me back to the 60's

Yes yes thanks to everyone for making it a fun and memorable event. Everyone was kind and generous and thoughtful.

Platinum that's a great venue, I hope we go use it again before too long. 300, thank you so much for fixing my alignment... the output has never looked so good. And for the BBQ err grilling, delicious! Swamidog, thanks for the mirror mount. I'll post some pics when I add it in my unit. More folks and things to mention but i need to get back to work!

Sorry I wasn't there late on saturday or on Sunday. I think my driving too much caught up with me, the viso IV wasn't working as well as usual. Drag evil down and we can look at rockets and planes .

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

I've got more, but I randomly chose some pics to see if I could upload. These crappy pics don't do the show justice

here's a link to my cell phone shots from nwlem: http://www.flickr.com/photos/swamido...4342/lightbox/

i'll upload the video sequences later and update this post with the link when they're ready.

sorry i didn't bring my real camera, but big lasers and expensive cameras don't play nice together.

thanks for the great time everyone.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
