    Loading???
if there is internal memory I guess, then I agree for a delayed load, and this only will be not an disadvantage if the thing had an internal memory.
But don't forget for live shows this delay might actually be there.

Certainly there is delay, I can say this without an doubt (over wifi that is though)
You will have to use lan to get an advantage out of this.
I heard wifi should only be used in case you have no other choice.

A delay in loading also means there is an delay in response time, else that "delay" wouldn't be there when loading right?

if you send some frames really quickly to it, it will certainly get a delayed load too.... thus lag

Best way to contact Bill is fill out a contact form on his website as he rarely gets time to come to PL these days.

It wont really matter in even a medium sized venue, as the time it takes the sound to get back to you will take far longer than the laser responding over WiFi, maybe that's where the problem came in?

No the problem was my misunderstanding of what Jem said to me. When he mentioned delay he meant in the initial loading of the show. I misinterpreted that as meaning a slight lag between laser playback and music, which was wrong. So my bad.

i'm aware of all the methods to run usb over network.. we have/had a ubox 2100 at one point, tried a few "eastern" brands to no avail, but are holding off on the belkin because its bigger than we would like...
Can you explain what you mean by 'to no avail' please? Could you simply not get it to work?

I've just ordered one of these and a wireless access point, so i'm hoping i can get it working with Livepro...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

It seems a lot of the eastern ones use the same chipset, need to dig out info I had on this when I did some research a while back.

I found that, at least with the one I tested, that loading qs2 with the fb3 connected remotely would cause the pc to hard reboot...

    Using windows xp anyway...

The Ubox worked great but it is discontinued

i think, with beyond being launched in july and it being much more high end than quickshow and since it will support fb3 hardware, there will be a fb3.net version.
    but this is true speculation.
