in that case, i'll follow what other and wiser than me have already written.

more voltage should do the trick. something around 8-9 volts maybe. did you wire the diodes in parallel or in series?

you can check these (and many more if you search a bit deeper, sorry i can;t be of more help. i'm totally beat up today and going to bed soon)

Try test running @ 800mA, are the drivers stable now? If yes check your supply voltage, some power supplies allow setting the output voltage, if possible increase the output to approximately 5.2V or higher and try again.

In one of the tests I did on this driver It was still able to do about 1.4A @5V. This test was done @ 1.6A and did not start to drop till about 5.4V but you can see when I get to 5V the current is still about 1.4A.

The only thing I have to do, is unplugged the power cord, unsolder the interlock, re solder it, and when I power it...all is ok !

    help me please !
@ 1.1A a 5V supply is cutting it fine, especially once you factor in volt drop of the wiring. If the 5V supply has a trim adjustment, try increasing output towards 6V.

When I first fitted blue diodes to my green projectors I was nicking a supply from the green psu. At low currents I could get away with it but it was very borderline. Due to the unreliable start up - same as you experienced and clearly caused by both you and I trying to do something we shouldn't rather than a problem with the driver - I have now fitted some small 1.6A 9V smps. These cost less than £10 and work 100% of the time with no start up problems, and my diodes are now running at 1W output.
The other alternative is to tweaK the pot on a normal framed 5V switcher to nip the volts up but you may not be able to increase it as much as you need and you do risk damge to the other sources that are on that supply. A separate power supply is the solution.

    agreed .
had issues in the past with nicking power from elsewhere.

You rock guys ! I have try to put the 5V at an higher level (5.74V @max of the psu), and now it's working !

    thank you guys !

do you know what i am hating this cunting driver again!!

thanks to the p3 driver for killing 10 red diodes today and just generally being wank and not working.

got two quad 445 builds both wired up the same, as per the instructions, as per previous builds and nope wont frucking work.

been trying to get a red module working, driver is wired up as per the instructions, as per previous builds and nope wont fucking work it just kills my diodes.

when i use robins die4drvier i just wire up add power and it works with no diode killing, but not this cunting driver. if the red lights not on all the fucking time then it wont give me enough power to power the diodes.

    wank wank fucking wank

    Post me all your P3's.
I'll home them for ya. I love 'em - best driver ever!

Thanks Andy, best laugh i've had for ages, sorry to laugh at your misfortune but you have such a lovely way with words.
