well if its like the red modules i don't think they have any external adjustment at all do they??
they seem pretty well sealed off to me...
Good morning!
As I set before - the beams should join in about 1-2 meters distance and stay together. If they don't, there's something wrong and you should contact your dealer. 1.2W is actually quite low power module and every single one I saw had beautiful beam.
Still waiting for serial number and picture of four lines on the wall if you want me to investigate for you.
Thank you!
actually I was referring more to your reply to dslijon
while i think their RGB modules *should* have adjustments, I could also see why they may not want them to be user accessible... (most people that would want an all-in-one module probably should not be dicking around with alignments)
Hi Martin -
Well, I will be very delighted to find-out that 'thinking-through' actually resulted in some adjustment-ports...![]()
Yeah, but denying the owner *any* access, is missing the whole point - ie: with the RGB-design:
(...and yes, I know, this is the *projector* version, but the sealed RGB-module is what's inside; the projector simply has sealed-extenders,
fused to the sealed-internal adj-ports...)
...sealed external-adjusts (like the MM-1s with recessed allen-sockets, vs thumbscrews) allow for converge-spanking, w/O access to the opticals, thus keeping all that messy-dust and class IV danger-danger out of the equation...'Best of both worlds', imo... I don't seem to see anything like that in the Kv 5, but, keen to find out...
Ah, now I see what you were saying, but why should I be 'punished' cause of the few doldrums that might crank such-adjs all the way to the south pole?If they're *that* much of a maroon,
they probably shouldn't even own a class IV system...
I mean, think of the benefits of an 'all in one' for something like an ML-10 - no-need to have a typical 'nekkid' R+G+B set-up, for such a rig, ya know?
And, too, even for an XY-graphics box, if you had like, umpteen of them, out on a 'Hugo Bunk-style' gig, if a module went south, you could be 'back up and running' much quicker, simply swapping-out the entire RGB-block, vs dicking-with an indie R or G or B-swap / realign, etc...
...But I certainly would not want to have to swap-out a 5W module, because the alignment somehow got off (...and they ALL-do, eventually...) but I could do nothing about it (...w/o voiding warranty etc) - then you're right back to Arctos-style 'handicaps', blech!
just my crazy opin...
cheers...

I think flecom is referring to the individual diode alignment
And jon your referring to rgb/ module alignment??
Fwiw , i havent had any issues with module alignment, and the green module in my kv, is floating on tec's (not even bolted down) to the baseplate...

Hey C -
Well, yeah, but it's more about MM-1-drift and/or optical-drift from external thermal-effects.... which, with a totally-sealed 'RGB-brick'-style module, could be very-frustrating, if you could not access it, at all... Yours, yes, you can-access, at least, but you have to remove the top-cover, thus exposing all your modules-optics / dichros to dust / fog, etc...
Well, #1, you don't do mostly graphics-shows..and #2, even your sys - while, yes it is very tight / any drift is extremely slight - certainly not noticeable in aerial shows / fx - it *does* drift, with external-temp influences... try projecting several circles, squares and x-ed lines (...like #'s or +'s) all in one frame, in colors like: orange, purple, 'grey', etc, indoors - then take the box outdoors, some fairly cool-night, and watch the 'fringing' / dis-convergence appear after a time...
...especially: project for awhile, then leave it off for awhile (in the outdoor cool) then, project-again...
..yeah, it might be slight, but when you are projecting 'mission-critical' blended-colors (ie: a Client logo with shades of colors (dark yellow/orange, purple, grey, etc) you quickly-realize the benefit of having external-convergence controls - no need to take any covers-off - just a quick spank with an allen-key, and you're spot-on... ie:
(..the color-issues in the grey in this shot are due to modulation-timing diffs between dpss green and the direct R + B, but because the convergence was quickly easily externally-tweekable, that 'spot-onness' helped minimize those color-shift anomalies...)
...that's all I'm sayin / inquiring-about - the little Kv5 'brick' would be more attractive, with such-adjs, imo...
And actually, Dude, we could quite easily 'improve' your Kv-sys, with 'externally-adjustable / accessible' mounts - checkky these out:
http://www.thorlabs.us/NewGroupPage9...ctGroup_ID=227 (...though these, specifically, might be too-big for your box, dunno - there are smaller ones out there...)
...a few, precisely-placed holes in your top-cover (for access) with nice button-plugs, and then, no-need to take the top-cover off (...'cept for cleaning, once in awhile....) for simple, fog/dustless, onsite convergence-tweekage...Just an idea...
Not trying to start any riots, here, just think / submit that being *able* to tweek your convo, w/O having to get the optical-deck all nekkid, is just plain good-design...
ciao

Its all on the synchrovision website in Martin's signature. Thats how I found how much it would be (at least the real world affordable ones were, I stopped looking after £2k...)Martin: how about posting at least , some retail pricing??

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Ok, so developers are "thinking it through" as I type. The module at the exhibition was working prototype only and not production unit.
I will update the info as soon as production is ready.
