    Default some comparisons

since we have been talking a lot about beam size/divergence etc with red and blue lasers, I decided to do some comparisons of the lasers in my projector... which are as follows

    650nm 1W CNI "flashlights" (x2 one V one H via PBS)
    642nm 1.2W KVant
    532nm 1W Laserwave
    473nm .4W Laserwave
    445nm 1.2W O-Like (no correction optics)

    642nm

notice that like every other 642nm laser this is a multi-diode setup

    650nm

notice the + pattern, thats the H and V lasers

heres the dot on the wall from the kvant

blown out contrast in photoshop so you can see clearer

    642nm line

    642nm + a tiny bit of 532nm

    642nm + a tiny bit of blue (473+445)

642nm + a tiny bit of blue and green

heres 650nm + a tiny bit of blue and green

and all of them mashed together

What is the projection distance ?
Everything shorter than 4 meters is pretty nearfield with multidiode setups.

If I would ever buy a kvant multidiode setup, I would like them to overlap the beams @ infinity, not anywhere nearer.

a bit over 14 feet... so in an educated country that would be about 4.25 meters

heres the output across a 65 foot dome... little less than 20 meters

Default ahh see what you mean

see what you mean now ,with your kvant, not cool at all
you think they would have put the beams so they overlapped.
they should fix that for you with the big $$ they cost.
my 6x 640 build i made the beams slightly off focus and overlapped them all
    to avoid that problem
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

    Hey Flecom,

Now i see what you're problem is same problem i have !!
I've noticed that at 1m.. i haven't test it at large distance.
Because the red i have is so bad that the beamspot is over 5cm at 4m.
Hopefully they can fix you're module. Mr Edison will repare my red

Nice pictures. It gives a good view of how thing look on farfield. The Kvant can be fixed i,m sure of that. The blue and green match nicely by the looks of it. The red too if the allignment was correct. I would guess a PBS cube that is out of allignment from the Kvant.
