Default Double lines in the Quadrature Test Pattern

    Hello all,

I received my new 1.3W Laser Projector last week and have been messing around with it and noticed one thing in particular that caught my attention.

On the Quadrature Test Pattern I have double lines on the top right side and the bottom left side; is this an alignment issue?

Also is this something to be concerned about or not? My colors look great and I have good white balance and was able to fine tune it pretty well in Quick Show 2.0.

My images appear to scan well also. However, I'm still new to all this and was wondering about the double lines in that one test pattern.

Sorry I don't have a picture right now but I left my camera at home. I will put up a picture when I get home later.

Any information or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

My system specs are listed below:

    300mW 640nm Analog 10k
    200mW 532nm Analog 10k
    800mW 447nm Analog 10k
    40kpps scanners

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

It usually means you are driving one scanner faster than the other... assuming I am thinking of what youa re seeing... but,

    Tuning your scanners should help.

Ya I know, I'm posting a picture when I get off work. If this is the case, one scanner driving faster than the other then what is the next step to correcting it?

Is it as simple as making an adjustment on the scanners (hardware in the case) themselves?

I've tried adjusting them in Quick Show and it still does it regardless what settings I change.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Tuning your scanners is the way to fix it; buffo has a really good tutorial on scanner tuning around here somewhere that should get you going in the right direction.

    Much appreciated!!

I'm reading the Scanner Tuning Tutorial now and it appears I was wrong in the test pattern that has the double lines, it was actually the Laser Media Test Pattern not the Quad. I'll post some picture when I get home. Either way thanks again for the information.

I was wondering, since my scanners are 40K and if they were set for 40K
from the factory would that cause this @ 30K scanning??

I read something about that in the tuning tutorial.

this the typical example outlined in the buffo galvo tuning guide. so one scanner runs faster than another, but you don't know which one.

buffo's guide will lead you through this, check page 5 where he describes the lasermedia test pattern and he covers exactly your case

I've contacted the person I bought my Laser from and have asked for details about the scannners before I try to tune them.
