    They key is to drink liquor so you have to pee less often. I have a feeling "stumbles" might be a designated driver this year...

    Ok, it was just an idea. It does look like it is only around 10 miles from the Holiday Inn, but if we want to stay more local thas fine too. I'm open to suggestions.

    Chris;

    I think the call to stay "local" was in reference to the original idea to go to Zambras Restaurant in Asheville, which is an hour away. Anything in Hickory would fall under "local" in my book. (No matter where you go in Hickory, it's going to be 6 to 10 miles from the venue in Newton.)

    Greg;

    The comment about stopping for bathroom breaks was likewise directed towards the original idea to drive all the way to Asheville to go to Zambras. In that case, it's very likely that a good number of people would need to stop for a piss break on the way back!

    In general, I agree that Zambras is probably not the best idea for Thursday. Lets agree to go to some place local in either Conover or Hickory instead. The pizza place that Chris mentioned might be OK, assuming they have a full bar, but most pizza joints I've been to only have beer...

    Adam,
    Thanks for the update. I was a little confused.

    I called Steel Horses and spoke to the owner and I'm glad I did. They are closed! The building has been bulldozed to the ground, so I guess we're back to square one. Go figure.

    I like the pizza & beer suggestion....

    There's a brew-pub in Hickory that's been around for 15 years, looks like they will have live music on the evening of the 18th.

    My aunt lives there but she's in her 70s. If you are interested in playing BINGO I can ask.
