Yep, the previous projector diodes were just the 1W 9mm dies packaged in a 5.6mm case. Have a look at newegg to see where the prices are going, too. It looks like these might be hard to find at under $1000 soon.
Dave glad to see somebody posted the pics over here.
My supplier has not cracked the array open yet to confirm that they have not added epoxy or anything to make harvesting harder yet but I should know when I get it middle of next week. It is going out fedex Monday and I should have them in hand by Wednesday or Thursday. If anyone is interested in doing some testing on these units I have 11 that are still not spoken for.

we have one of the 9mm original nichia ones (sent to us for free as a sample, after we bought two 500mw 445s)
can confirm the specs are the same as the casio diodes.

Some additional research this morning gave me some additional insight.
These larger arrays appear to be Casio incorporating blue laser technology into its entire line of projectors.
They do NOT appear to be a replacement for the SlimLine models.
For now these appear to be only in the "Standard", "Pro" and "Short Throw" models
An interesting side note is that with the "Pro" and "Short Throw" models, there is a blue LED in the light path IN ADDITION TO the blue laser arrays. They are also reporting a 3500 Lumen rating for these two models. It will be interesting to see how they combine these two blue light sources in the light path.
Peace,
dave
**EDIT** -- Looking at it more closely, it looks more like the blue LED will provide the blue light and the blue laser array will simply be used to fluoresce the green wheel in the Pro and Short Throw models.

Thanks for the research Dave.
I will report back tomorrow night as the tracking shows they estimate delivery of the M140 tomorrow.

In case anyone might be interested, I have a revised version of my diode mounting block to suit 9mm diodes in the works.
