is that with corrective lens in place? At these powers, the beam would be extremely hazardous. You can etch the abstract on the wall!

Wow! 4 Watts from a single diode!

I knew if I waited long enough to build my projector powers would go up, but that is just silly!
So, now you could, in theory have a single diode Red & Blue with a cheap(ish) chi-DPSS green for a 6 to 10 watt output projector?
Or am I way off here?

Will you be stocking these Sir-DTR? Any idea of prices?

Well here is what I got so far. They are some tough bastards. I ran it for 20 minutes on 5A with it just bolted to a heatsink out of a M140 projector.



My Ophir is down at the moment but I can say it maxed out my Laserbee II.
















Been trying to get some pictures but there is just soo much red it drowns everything out. Here is what I have.

have you tried corrective optics on this and how did it do? From the image it almost looks like you have some cyl lens set on it but can't tell. IE do you think this could give 2W and a nice beam for graphics? That would be amazing and shrink my setup a lot. I have a quad 638nm 170mw now and 2W 650nm would be just fine. Plus I could even use the extra space to use a tec on the diode and back fill the cavity with dry nitrogen. Use planters resistor on a window and were talking a diode in place for 10 years.

Well I will be the first to admit I am not much in figuring optics but I have been playing with different lenses out of torn down projectors I have laying around today and found a interesting pair that make a beam @ 25 feet is about 8mm out of the aperture and 10mm on the wall 25 feet away. Check this out.

If I did the math right, that works out to a divergence of 0.263 mrad. !!!!!!

so if he uses optics with half the fl's he should get a beam of 4mm with a 0.5mrad.
making me break out a calculator
Seems right to me.
this will be a thing to watch kinda wondering what the companys watching are going to do.
