Multi-Page MasterBeam....whats that?
you made me all curious :P
You are unique! Just like everyone else...
Mum: What do you want for breakfast? Me: Lasers Ofcource!
Live >> Masterbeam (used for live control).
If you open a live show you can select your cues there. Until now there was only one page available.
If you open a new show and open the Masterbeam window you just see Touch me everywhere. You need to assign cues (or whatever they are called in LSX) to them by first creating an effect in the timeline (say from second 5 to 10) and then press a button in this Masterbeam window and tell it to go from second 5 to 10 when you press it. It's the retarded way how LSX handles live control, but if you spend a week with it you can get some decent results ;-)
You can also assign this to a MIDI key for an external control device.
Feature suggest: please allow the user to set to which MIDI channel the program has to respond.
colored and others, the best way to create a masterbeam panel is to open the panel, check 'edit keys', and then press the first button. In the dialog that pops up you will see 'Auto-create all keys'. Click this and timeslots will be auto-generated for every key. Then you can go back to the timeline and start creating effects or putting in efects from the SFX browser. Below all effects you should put a live time control event, just as in the first live show example and also in kl79's example so that you can easily change the beat pacing of each event as you control the live show. When you lay out your live show in this way, the synchronization and beat timing will be the same as you change 'queues'.
The other way coloured suggested you do it is possible, too, but yes it's a little retarded and would take a longer time.
Feature request granted, have a look at the MIDI settings panel: remap.
Thanks for that hint drlava. Is there a way to set the standard interval time and/or shift the length of the events? One second is a bit limited...
And where is the MIDI settings panel? Ohhhh, right there. Sorry, still getting used to the software.
Well, that makes the software a bit less retarded, but I still hate that there is no tap sync or beat control.
There might be tap sync/autodetect in the future. One of the reasons for the standardized '1 second' period on the timeline is to provide an easy future path for beat autosync. One second default event duration on the timeline does not mean one second in real life when you use the live time variable source, it's just a standardized length so when time progression is adjusted the way I described above, all of the events loop at the same beat or multiple beat periods.
I'll investigate that. Creating my own workspace now! It's still rather primitive though...
Anyway, how do you create that new feature, music to laser? I've had a look at your show but I can't figure it out. Any hints and tips?
Thanks for your input, once again LSX proves to have a solution to everything only it is well hidden.
OMG, Andrew, If you've missed PM - please, could you throw a demo version link to my mail el_zakidono@mail.ru? I've got my hands shaking on that midi stuff. Thanks in advance![]()
Hi, I've been updating the Demo, you and the others that are waiting, I'll let you know as soon as it's ready. With the new demo you'll be able to save your work, so when you purchase a full version you can begin where you left off.
