about the 20120723 update...I may not use it as it must be, but I have a little problem with masterbeam, each time I click on a frame, it's displayed correctly but the sliders only act on the first scanner, I need to tick the second scanner (new buttons) each time I change the frame, is that normal ? and when I tick it, I need to move a little the sliders to activate the effect on the second scanner.
is there a way to disable this function ?
when I'm playing live I may not have time to click on "many" buttons.
typicaly, I enjoy playing with the scanner speed button, I need to increase the "master speed" and the "scanner speed", if I need to select the second scanner and move the sliders to have the strobe effect on each laser, the music have already changed :-)

how do you use it, you lsx user ?

Hi, individual control of the scanners motion effects was a requested feature for LSX, and it's first implemented in the version you describe. I also added a way for you to control all scanners output sliders without switching between groups. The way to do this is to check the 'follow' checkboxes on the other 3 scanner selectors. This will cause the other scanner sets sliders to 'follow' your adjustments on the set you have open. These checks are saved so when you re-open your show all scanners sliders will still be grouped.

New update posted! tweaks operation of the live slider control, also expands a few events functionality.

Also, I've created a little gift for you all who like to play MIDI piano and are looking to add some pizzaz to your concerto.
    enjoy!

    ok good.
I'm not at home now, but if I understand correctly, I must check the 'follow' checkboxes on the other 3 scanner selectors for each frame and save the show...ok ? I will try it this afternoon.

and yes, it's a very good feature ! we just need to work with it to be familiar with ;-)

ok, just spend long minute to check the 'follow' checkboxes ...i tried, all was ok.
As I often do, I modify some sliders playing with the soft and as I do on each live show, I clicked on "reset sliders of all key".....the error, all the follow check boxes are now "empty" I need to check all another time :-(

These checks are saved so when you re-open your show all scanners sliders will still be grouped

kl79, when a live show is loaded from a previous version, the follow checkboxes are all checked for you by default when controlling the fist scanner set. Good point about the 'reset sliders' function. I'll make that not affect the follow settings.

here's a new show i've been working on. this is just a quick little atmospheric/abstract show. dr.lava added some features so abstracts can be assigned to surfaces and this allows for some really interesting effects. in some cases i used 0% intensity shapes to punch holes in abstracts and show abstracts behind them.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hello Dear LSX Community,
I am a laser newbie doing DJing mostly for pleasure (Friends wedding/Birthday/part)
Thank you to all the contributors of this Forum, I love what you are doing with LSX and it's a big inspiration to me!!!

as my laser toy (GHOST 120 GREEN) just died, I want to invest into RGB LAser.
I plan to Purchase KVANT ELITE 1.6W that embedded MONCHA.NET ILDA Ethernet Controler
I understand that LSX does support MONCHA.NET as DAC ILDA controller with the provided DLL

    I have some questions:
    1) I would like to know If I can Use the MONCHA.NET for Licensing Purpose to Avoid Purchasing the USB KEY (and also avoid the long Lead time to get it as I live in France)
    2) Where could I download a demo version of LSX?
    3) where can I upload/download LSX sample shows ?
    4) Is the correct place to Purchase LSX this aweb addresss: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/LSX.php

Thank you all for you sharings
I am deeply interest into the Procedurial 2D/3D Drawings and the audio BPM detection exemples to be BPM locked with my TRAKTOR 2.0 DJing Software
    Kind regards
    Leonard

    Hi,

    1) No, you can only lock the license to either a Riya DAC, a QM, or an old LDS dongle. I'm afraid you need to get the USB dongle.
    2) Contact drlava about a demo version. It's not available in public, only on demand.
    3) LSX comes with a disc with a lot of sample shows. There's also been rumours about a LSX show server: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...SX-Show-server, and alternatively I started a thread to bundle information about LSX with sample shows, where users can post stuff if they find out how to do something cool: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...torials-thread!
    4) That is the correct link.

Not sure what you want to do with BPM detection. LSX is not BPM oriented, it's more of a timeline where you put effects on and select which effect you want to play at a given time. But you can alter the playback speed of the effects with a slider, or however you prefer, and you can alter parameters of the effects in real time with all kinds of external control (like a MIDI device).
If you really want to use BPM, I could try to work something out with expressions, but I don't know how input from Traktor would work :P

    Hope that helps you!
