    Hey Jason

My DACs are all Medialas DACs (I used Mamba 2/ MIII before LSX) and I have never had a problem using them in LSX as long as I am not trying to use them simultaneously with MIII.

When I purchase a new DAC, it will likely be an ether-dream but I've been waiting for the long awaited show-playback from SD card via DMX command. I understand LSX incorporates whatever functionality is available for these open DACs. Its also too bad that the Pango FB DACs aren't open as I may go that route if they were.

I checked my e-mail and all I found that I've been contacted on previously was ild.sos.activation@gmail.com. He's also frequently hanging out in the PL chat room, but I don't see him there at the moment.

Is anyone using LSX with a moncha.net DAC? Any issues?
As there doesn't seem to be an FB3 sdk any time soon, and I want to try Moncha, LSX and an Ethernet enabled DAC it seems like the best choice.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Does the Etherdream run Moncha tho?

moncha.net is listed above as a supported DAC, I just wondered if anyone was actually using it.

Hasn't Brad got a moncha DAC? (on the basis I could name any DAC and Brad would have one, or maybe two! )

Hey!! I'll have you know I DON'T have an Etherdream dac in my pile 'o laser crap!

    (give it time tho...)

Anyway, yes I have two Moncha DAC's but, they are not the Moncha.net DAC's. It's more like an FB3. Simple box with a USB cable on one side and a DB25 on the other. It worked with my old version of LSX although, since I recently downloaded an upgraded version of LSX, I haven't figured out how to get it to work yet.
That was actually on my "to do" list for this evening but, I'm trying to get the energy to get up and go pull everything out of my laptop bag.

Showing off: two videos of LSX in combination with a live band.
    What do you think?

CMB, well done! Thats a nice abstract to complemnt the band, it is interesting to watch but no overly distracting. So I take you you wrote some sort of expression(s) that uses the audio input for some of its terms?

Sorry for the dumb question but what mode do you put LSX in so that it uses live input? The software is a bit overwhelming at first, I'm still studying your tutorials.

Oh, but the way, I got LSX working with my soundcard DAC; the issue was I did not understand exactly which 'installation' folder to put the EZAudDAC driver into. I had it in two directories (LSX and ILD sos paths with the .DLOs where the user renames the correct driver from .DLO to .DLL) but needed it in program files directory. Dr. Lava was kind enough to give me a call and point me in the correct direction.

I just put an order into upgrade to Basic... Can't wait to dig into it! )

Edit: I incorrectly stated that you could not save picture files with LSX lite, that is incorrect. There IS a (frame) 'picture' editor within LSX, the user just can't save with the external picedit application.

I'm not sure what you mean by "mode"... I used a Live timecode setting so I could change the playback speed of the show while it was playing (check tutorial #6 about creating a live show). I used the Masterbeam window to select an effect and then used the midi controller for rotation and other effect-depending parameters.

Yes, I made most of those effects myself. Two abstracts are from swamidog and one from drlava however :P
Audio input is done with the wave2 and spec2 expressions (their amplitude is controlled with the midi controller).
I'm quite proud of some of those effects. I found out inspiration can come from the weirdest places, probably half of those come from watching visualisations of various media players :P

Anyway, glad you got it working at last! Lots of fun incoming :P
And yes, I'd recommend basic over lite, only for the midi input options.
