    Default 8 diode 445 build

built on a 15mm solid aluminium baseplate, with big thick aluminium diode blocks - all for good heat sinking. no brass or moving parts.

yes i need to change 4 of the lens to olike will do that later.

waveplate and 445 mirrors from rob.

i dont have a psu with enough juice to run this at full power, the pics are 6.2v @ 5.1 amps and its fooking bright.

Nice work there, what are you using for the mirrors, they don't seem to all be the same size ?

they started life as 10mm 445 mirrors from rob, but they were to big so i cut them down using a pair of wire cutters lol.

This really looks nice. Did you machine the 4-diode blocks? Are the diodes held directly within these bolcks or are they each mounted in a module and then in turn held by the blocks? How do you think the performance will change with the O-like lenses? And finally, how far do you plan to go with the current? Very high power is always fun. Good work!

I have a feeling he won't need any; the way they are stacked at the aperatiure it should be a nice square beam for a while.
