Stairville is their own brand, but its often the same kit as other brands, but cheaper. That fogger is either a copy of an Antari, or the same Chinese OEM.
The controller is included and has a (digital, so you set the exact seconds, not just turning a knob for a 'rough' time) timer function (bursts), continous with variable output level and the DMX option.

Personally I haven't wanted a biiger one yet, it will 'pea soup' very big rooms/tents.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Ok thanks.

One last question, what do you use fluid wise for outside, Stairville's brand?

what do you use fluid wise for outside
    Same as for inside.

I think its the E fluid, not the very cheapest, the regular one up from that i think. At least having a half decent amount of ingredient in there helps make the fogger last/not clog. I've had this one over 3 years now I think.

    Thanks Norty.

BTW I had a look at the machines online. I'm 99% certain they're Antari Z series.

I did an outdoor garden show quite well with just 500mW RGB's, two of them.
The smoke from the chiminea was a big help and a bit of extra smoke from a 700W Soundlab fogger with just a gentle breeze sort of making the smoke swirl in circles.
Did not have much more in the way of light apart from what was leaking out of the house windows and from the fire.
the lasers where about 40ft way at the bottom of the garden projecting on the back of the house. No audience scanning.
It's a shame I have no photo's as the beams looked quite impressive for being outside.

So I say lower power (500mW) lasers can do good garden beam shows if it's not to breezy.

A hazer, outdoors, is a waste of space (and fluid!)
You need as many fog machines as you can assemble, placed at different places around the display area. Several small ones are better than one big one. Use the densest fog fluid you can afford. If possible, erect tarpaulins or any other sort of screening around the area to get the air mass in front of the laser as still as possible.
The laser powers you suggest will be fine for an outdoor show if you have enough fog to make the beams show up; run at the highest power you can, but use your software's beam attenuation map to get the power down in any audience scanning areas. If your software doesn't offer beam attenuation, get some decent software! The fact it's a private party doesn't absolve you of the responsibility of putting on a safe show.

    The Rated Laser Powers are:

    Laserwave 500mW 532nm green
    C*sio 1 watt 445nm blue
    Maxyzmodules 400mW dual 660 Red
    Laserwave 350mW 642 Red

So, add up the *rated* laser power and we're looking at 2.25 watts. However, in reality it won't be anywhere near that as the blue will be wound well down, possibly the green as well. I reckon i'll probably be looking at around 1.5 watts of balanced white if i'm lucky. That's more than enough for my use

Just a note, cheap smoke fluid is just that, soon as wind gets it it disperses, use a good quality dense fluid, Jem is the best, tried it on many occasion,

Hazers are not crap outside, they just need placing in the correct area, a small amount of fine haze will go a lot further than you can imagine,

And yes Rob, OPS Lasers would be the best route, Or even larger Viasho units, Both available from a reputable UK brand www.ac-lasers.co.uk

Don't know how long you need the smoke but with a good fan and a couple of this things: http://vimeo.com/4117000 you have a decent smoke that would burn for a minute of 5. So if you want to do a quick show you could try it :P
