Correct - it's going to be at the one in Conover. I need to edit the post above to remove the Hickory reference. Technically it *is* right on the border between Conover and Hickory, but there is another Holiday Inn (not an Express) that is also in Hickory (other side of town), so in order to tell the two apart, the Holiday Inn Express is labeled as being in Conover. (Are we confused yet?)

No... I figured you meant our hotel. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't held at another Holiday Inn that might be in Hickory.

Thanks Adam for adding this to SELEM V -- It gives some of us a goal to be ready to take the course should you be able to repeat this for SELEM VI.
    and join ILDA too.

I'll have to discuss it with the venue manager. Part of the problem with a late August or early September date is that school has started up, making it difficult or impossible for college students to attend. Also, in the past, this weekend was the only free one in the venue's busy calender.

If anything, I wish we could have SELEM a little earlier in the summer - even a week earlier would make a big difference. School starts as this is winding down, and for those who are parents and have to travel a long way, it has its impact.

If you mean, how to afford it... can't help you there but, if you mean how to go about registering.... go to www.laserist.org (the ILDA website) and you can register through their online store. (It was pretty simple.)

If you are not already an ILDA member and you want to do both (that is, sign up to be a member and also register for the class), then yes, it's my understanding that you need to do two separate transactions. One to join ILDA, and then one to register for the class. The reason is that once you join ILDA, you are eligible for a $50 discount on the price of the class, but you can't get the discount until you log in as a registered ILDA member.

Send an e-mail to Patrick Murphy (mail@laserist.org) if you're having trouble.
