Yes. That's the way you have to do it. Once you're registered as an ILDA member, you see the price change for the safety course.

One to join ILDA, and then one to register for the class. The reason is that once you join ILDA, you are eligible for a $50 discount on the price of the class, but you can't get the discount until you log in as a registered ILDA member.

Send an e-mail to Patrick Murphy (mail@laserist.org) if you're having trouble.

By the way, I was looking at the ILDA website, and I see several new names in the ILDA membership list. Cool! Welcome to all the new members...

I sat the LS course here in Aus on Monday. I feel a large burden of responsibility on my shoulders now... Wish my luck for the exam!

Just curious, what sort of insurances does everyone have for shows?

I didnt take it but was there when the guys came out after the exam and there were no smiling faces. The math in the exam appeared to but the toughest part and I, for one, will not take it w/o a lot on boning up before I do. Good luck to all, the results, btw, were not given out after the course. I imagine waiting to hear how they faired was not pleasent.

I am sure it isnt easy. I have a chemistry degree so I think I would be ok with the math... But I need more foundation before I take the class. I just became intersted in projectors about 2 months before Selem. Lots to learn but I hope to show up next year with more than just a bunch of dumb questions.

IIRC I heard Platinum say he would be willing to share his notes. That would help I'm sure. Also a good scientific calculator or an app. sounded like a good thing to have with you.
