    Default White Light DPSS Anyone???

Pr:PAYAC! Yeah, that's right... And I'm not talking about the city next to Chernobyl.

This exotic crystal was brought to my attention by this thread... http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...read.php/15063
....And sounds very interesting. Yeah, the crystal and multi-wavelength optics may be expensive and outputs are low gain. Hell, may be worth it for the 640nm wavelength alone.
The best part is.... It's pumped with freaking Ca$io diodes!

This has got to be the coolest thing I've seen since cheap 445!

Check out this PDF and discuss.... http://www.hzdr.de/db/Cms?pOid=29566

wow that would be amazing... since 445 is worthless using it as a pump source for getting red and green... dream come true

and the city next to chernobyl is pripyat

That is really neat. The only problem is we are back to pcaom for color modulation. Chad

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

And what is the problem with that? It still looks much better.

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

Hum, Ever put a PCAOM on a tip tilt stage? We were well over 93% when we placed the NEOS mount on a proper dual goniometer stage at my former lab. It was shocking how much better it worked.

Amazing! Does this mean we finally got to the best-of-both-worlds, holy grail type of laser of a multi-line, whitelight-in-a-shoebox?

I see they split the laser colours in the video for demonstration purposes (probably with single-line optics) but I'm really curious to see the white beam coming from this system. I wonder what the beam specs are going to be as well.

But imagine... having blue, orange, 523 nm green and 635nm red in one box, perfectly aligned, ready to shoot through a lightning-fast, not-jellybeaning PCAOM to hit a pair of miniscule galvos and exit as a perfecly round beam....

This thing is probably going to cost a million. But do I hope to see it in action somewhere soon....
