At 50% discount I'm surprised your complaining.
So far as FB3 owners are concerned, when you consider that an LD2000 trade in could be 10+ years old whereas the Fb3 has only been out a year, I still don't think you've been hard done by. You've had many years usage for you 50% reduction even if you didn't buy it the full 10 years ago. FB3 owners are making an almost new trade up.
At the end of the day if 50% discount isn't enough, go buy Mamba or Phoenix or Fiesta and see what discount you're offered, $0. The see what it costs to update every year or two. I'm sure after a few years $800 or so upgrade for Pangolin will seem cheap!
Well I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
I think 50% is fair, obviously you do not.![]()
I bought a QM.Net Intro and an FB3 shortly after. The costs were significantly different, and at that time rightly so. The additional value I invested in the QM (assuming lifetime updates) is now somewhat diminished by this offering. So I have to agree with Flecom's statement above. I see this as a sudden loss of equity through devaluing the QM to just $100 above the FB3.
This is the case regardless of how spectacular Beyond proves to be.
I would suggest you're looking at this the wrong way. 50% discount is very generous. If there's any argument here its that the FB3 owner is offered too much discount not that the LD owner at 50% is getting too little, which to be honest, still doesn't really help your case for a cheaper upgrade.
I'm guessing Pangolin have been generous with the FB3 owners to give people a chance to get on the professional ladder which has long been out of reach for many and long been a moan on here. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time.
like I said before, until we get a feature list, the real question is, is beyond even worth the extra cost of "Beyond Lite" aka QS2
I guess that all depends on what sort of price the 100% value is.I would suggest you're looking at this the wrong way. 50% discount is very generous.
When we got sent the questionnaire regarding pricing, pre-launch, I declined to respond because I couldn't see me being able to respond with anything useful, it just seemed so expensive, but to be fair, we knew (and still don't) pretty much nothing about what we were being asked to value.
I'm very interested in the FB3.net box however.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Until I know what the upgrade would provide, the cost is irrelevant.
I can see the argument for providing a discounted upgrade for QS/FB3 owners, no dispute. To further clarify my point regarding retained value in the QM, it would have been better to offer those QM owners an automatic crossgrade to a more advanced package to reflect the difference in prior investment.
E.g. Advanced at 50% what was paid for LD2000 Intro, Ultimate for 50% what was paid for LD2000 Basic and Ultimate for 25% what was paid for LD2000 Advanced.
