    Max size of 600mW unfortunately

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Err... Get a 'Laser Quantum' and have done with it

ok it can be modulation issue, but ! if you play with your laser outside, it's possible the green have cold... and you loose much power.

Yea, most DPSS greens have modulation issues of some sort. I will admit I recently got a 300mW DHOM to replace my Kvant 300mW green that the driver died on me. The new one modulated very well but diverges a bit more than my red and blue. I cannot complain due to the overly generous deal Marc at CTLasers gave me. I have to say the Kvant green had a modulation issue where it started a good deal slower than the red and blue so I would have a sharp pink line at the beginning of most white lines. Gettng a more expensive laser doesn't always mean it won't have similar issues. I am very happy with my DHOM 300mw replacement. I have a second no name 300mW green in my DIY series projector that goes into TEM01 after a while under modulation; again, a DPSS modulation issue... It does linear modulation fairly well though.

Per your PM you are in Orlando, maybe we can get together one day and I can view the problem first had to try and see exactly what the problem looks to be. I have also had this type of problem with several 473nm blues; it is a problem that most DPSS lasers have. It seems to be with keeping the internal crystals happy, usually temp wise.

Something I have wanted to do is to get an AOM for each DPSS laser as that should resolve any modulation issue although they tend to cause 10 to 20% loss and can be a pain to install if your projector is already filled.

    Aaron,

Thanks for the feedback. At this point I would entertain the idea of installing an AOM. Any direction you can point me as for buying one? I will send you a PM regarding getting together soon and tinkering.

I have been seeking the best green for years and found dhom to be very good. I have a 500mw and only need 200-300mw so I run below the "KNEE" of the laser. The trick I found that works is have a laser with about 1.5-2 times the output you need. These lasers will then modulate very well in the region you need them in. The second option is to use an AOM on the green. Now the laser runs continuously and will burn out MUCH faster. So take your pick. The other option is OPSL which modulates nearly perfecly. The also cost many thousands to buy.

Ok there is one third option. Tehre is a greek company that makes eye magic scanenrs. They have an optical feedback system that looks for the laser output and gives it a boost when needed to level out the modulation response curve. It's $800.00 or I would have bought one long ago. It does work and I have seen it in action. If it was in the $400.00 level I'd have it today.
