Everyone that has ordered, you should have received the manual via the email address you purchased from.

    Cheers,

Kit arrived yesterday, the scanner the day before that. I already have the laser so, I guess it's time to figure out a case for this project and get the other few little bits. Looks like LOTS of soldering!

I just tried to download the note bank programmer from the link in the manual but the link is not working.
Do I need to be a bit more patient while the link is set up?

Sorry, was just doing a final look around on the software before I uploaded it. It should be working in a couple minutes

EDIT: Fixed! Files are now on the site

Please note: the read function isn't fully finished yet. It may work, it may not. Working on fixing it. The write function should be fine though.

    Cheers,
    Dan

So the board arrived and I'm now soldering everything on, but how do I know the polarity of the potentiometers? I just solder them on the same way as in the picture on the manual, but I don't know how I can tell from the pots themselves. Has it something to do with the squares and circles on the board? Sorry my lack of electrical knowledge, I'm a physicist, not an engineer :P

(edit) Also component "Q1" is not mentioned in the manual, though it is not so hard to find out where it has to be placed.

My kit landed on Tuesday but only got chance to open it tonight.
The greer laser for this harp also landed today so apart from an enclosure for the sensor I have vertualy everything and I plan to start populating the PCB tonight.
With a bit of luck this kit could be working for the weekend.

I really hope the board in the picture is 100 % the same as mine because I had to guess how the ATMega 328 and such had to be placed. Would it damage the board if I had them placed in backwards?

Anyway I need a new stripper because the old one decided he didn't like us anymore and left, so connecting the wires will have to wait for tomorrow :-(
I'm only hoping the laser parts I ordered will arrive soon, so I don't have to wait.

Any suggestions on an enclosure? I'm clueless.

All of the IC's have a half circle notch at one end and same for the sockets. The notch should be at the top of the IC socket if you hold the PCB with the word LASER HARP at the top.
The little black transistor at the bottom should have the flat face facing down to the edge of the PCB and the blue pots have the adjusters to the top.
If you just follow the Photo in the instructions you should be on the right track.

I hope this is of help.

I've just finnished populating my PCB. Just to sort out the case and get an enclosure for the sensor.

The potentiometers don't really have a polarity, though it's easier if you put them all the same orientation

And thanks for notifying me about Q1, I'll be sure to add it to the manual

    Cheers,
    Dan
