    interesting question...

    my projectors were

    RRGBB: 6.4W
    532 beam table: 1.8W
    532 beam table: 2.4W

    so thats 10.6W from me

someone should make another thread for that

We had well over 30 watts just on the stage itself. If you count what we had in the lobby, the hallway, and the ion room, we were probably close to 50 watts total. (Hell, it's likely that we had nearly 5 watts just in pointers!) But the single most powerful laser was probably the 6 watt Kr/Ar rig that Jeff (RGB-gas) brought. The most powerful projector would have been Frank's (Flecom's) 6.4 watt solid state RGB projector, but that had 6 individual lasers in it.

As for the beam effects you see in the video, most of them are either custom effects or cues from LivePro. (Well, a few of them may have been from Beyond, but we only had them hooked up to Aaron's computer (with beyond installed) for a very short time, so I'm not sure that any of the video reflects this.) The large RGB at the top of the truss is the only projector that was running quickshow for any great length of time.

Does anyone own a 30W single rgb projector?. I'm curious to understand what's the visible difference with a 6w.

I don't know of anyone that has a single projector that can make 30 watts of white. To do that you would almost need a matched pair of large frame ion's (one Kr, one Ar), or else one hell of a large array of solid state lasers all stacked together in a large box.

If I remember correctly, Jenlas used to make a 30 watt unit, but it was very green heavy. I think the maximum output of balanced white was around 15 watts or so. Likewise, the most I've ever heard of anyone getting out of a single mixed-gas large frame ion laser is around 20 watts of white, and that was for an I-400. I think Arctos has a few high-power solid state projectors, but I don't think any of them go all the way up to 30 watts.

Even if you had an RGB projector that could output 30 watts, you couldn't use it safely in that auditorium. We'd be burning the paint on the walls and setting fire to the upholstry on the seats! That kind of power is only really usable outside.

Let's see... I had about 6.6 watts between 4 projectors up there. So, with Frank, we're at 17.2. Adam had 2 projectors and a beam table which I would think puts us over 20. I can picture at least 10 more projectors in my mind so, it would be kinda cool to chime in and figure this out.

Next year baby....! If all goes according to plan I should have at least 9 more watts with me.

My little projector puts out 600mw. Maybe I'll break that 1 watt wall one day.

It wasn't too long ago... Two years or so, when 1 watt was more a ceiling than a wall...
