I don't remember it telling me in any way shape or form when the memory card on one FB3 went screwy and refused to output anything!

    Really?
It seems you weren't stuck with several builds of LivePro for 3 months that would only output analog red; TTL blue and no green at all...!
The client that install was for really loved that...

(The above issues are now resolved; and sorted via contact with Pangolin; just posted here as a few examples.)

    Hmm...

I wasted a stupid amount of time the yesterday on an event trying to breath life into a QM that just refused to work. 2 QM's later and enough swearing to sink a small ship, we were on track. When running a show; over the years I've lost count of the number of problems we've had with various QM's dropping out; crashing LivePro+Showtime with it. Shit happens.

Pangolin are good; I mean really good. I like Showtime and LivePro - wouldn't swap it for anything else, QM.NET's: great stuff; but their products aren't as perfect as you seem to constantly make out in the wonderful world of Al.

Things go wrong; and that's ok.

Can't comment on the older versions but the FB3-QS version self diagnoses.

I'm not a Live Pro user and nor have I ever tested Live Pro. That certainly sounds unfortunate. I'm a little surprised you didn't install an earlier version until the current version had been fixed. But maybe there were reasons.

Sh*t does happen. I agree. But compared to many problems with other products posted on here, Pangolin seems to be the one of the most reliable. Their most recent products are probably some of the best ever due to the level of testing ie. QS is extremely reliable and I expect Beyond will be eventually when it gets beyond the initial development stages. No product is ever perfect but some are better than others. We can but hope.

Please credit people with a bit more intelligence than the fact they would sit for 3 months waiting for a fix when they could've just installed an earlier version (from that freely available resource of easily accessible prior versions that Pangolin maintains for us....)

All versions suffered the bug until the fixed one. It was also slightly frustrating getting to a point where the bug was even acknowledged, and took a few people's contributions to arrive at that point. Not one of my better experiences.

But as with Dan, I wouldn't swap my LivePro for anything else currently.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

sounds more like a pc issue :b
anyway instead of bitching you might as well ask for clarification from bill.
Only once i've had a problem with for instance my QM.
This was because I didn't clean the pins on the QM.
After that I've never had a problem.
Don't always start blaming it on the hardware right away. it might as well be your pc or the OS

Also, just because you have an issue once doesn't make the FB3 unreliable.

If you don't mind, check the "\LD2000\Log" folder to see if there are any log files from yesterday. It will look similar to "LivePRO_May_24_2007_07-4-PM_Part1.log".

I didn't mean to sound rude. I did say maybe there were reasons for not doing so.

Andy is there a Force Intensive Logging option in Live Pro?

If there is its probably in Configuration > Log System or somewhere similar.

If you can reproduce the problem and Intensive logging exists, take the intensive option, restart Live Pro then reproduce the problem. Then send the logs date and time from the start of that session to the end to Pangolin.

I have asked him questions many many times.
In fact I speak to him very often.
If bill says it's the computer..it's the computer.
How about you try it on a different computer?
Be sure to always have a spare laptop anyway in case your pc starts acting up.

If you can, zip em up and send them in. Once we have em we can work to see what the issue is/was. Just to be clear, the issue is not currently occuring correct?
