I have asked him questions many many times.
In fact I speak to him very often.
If bill says it's the computer..it's the computer.
How about you try it on a different computer?
Be sure to always have a spare laptop anyway in case your pc starts acting up.
With all due respect, sometimes it isn't the computer, or running an old version, or [insert other user error or 3rd party problem].
Sometimes a reported problem just needs investigating and replicating as part of a tech support process.

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

As I said above Andy, if you can reproduce it and force logging is a Live Pro option, do it.

It's purpose is to catch events that don't register as a crash and thus trigger automatic logging. Thus forced logging will create reports which will show any faulting modules even when the programme is unaware its faulting.

another suggestion (and something I do myself)

have a dedicated laser laptop... don't use it for anything else, never plug it into the internet etc... will have you lots of headaches

This is why I use Mac, with a baselined VM image of Windows XP to run my show critical Windows apps.

This is the most reliable way I've found to run the inferior, insecure, bloated etc. etc. MS operating system.

(and it pains me to be working on a global rollout of MS technology!)

Same here. Actually 3. I have two that are virtually identical. One periodically gets exposed to the 'net for updates and things. The other two - never.

    Definately a dedicated show laptop/computer.
I have 2 configured just about the same for my lights and lasers but can be interchangeable as needed.

@Dan " Really? It seems you weren't stuck with several builds of LivePro for 3 months that would only output analog red; TTL blue and no green at all...! The client that install was for really loved that...(The above issues are now resolved; and sorted via contact with Pangolin; just posted here as a few examples.)"

Was this just "verbal contact" solving the issues ...or were their "bugs" needing a software fix from Pangolin"

"I wasted a stupid amount of time the yesterday on an event trying to breath life into a QM that just refused to work. 2 QM's later and enough swearing to sink a small ship, we were on track. When running a show; over the years I've lost count of the number of problems we've had with various QM's dropping out; crashing LivePro+Showtime with it. Shit happens."

Dan here you appear to be indicationg a hardware problem ... was this the case

Seems to me we might be better off asking the poeple who have had problems, how they got fixed ... rather than as faithful Pango worshippers Click image for larger version.

I personally find it really difficult to learn from people who have had no faults with similar gear, and wrongly assume, Click image for larger version.

i have a dedicated laser laptop but i do connect it to the web as sometimes on gigs i get bored and wana surf.

i fixed the problem by uninstalling both fb3's and then reinstalling them. i have the drivers saved on the laptop just encase.

as for the novation, i just needed to tweaking some setting (tick some boxes) to get it back up and running.

    so all is working now

I am glad to hear all is well now but I'd still like to see the log files, if possible, to isolate the problem in case there is a bug somewhere on our end and/or to determine if it was some wierd MS problem.
