    Greg and Len,

I appreciate your keeping up with this thread! My laser business has seemingly exploded for the end of this year, I have no time to do anything but shovel laser shows out the door, and get ready to go to Moscow next week for ILDA. Watch for a very cool and unusual show at Memorial City Mall starting after Thanksgiving, and of course Pearland Town Center Dec. 2.

Do we have a general head count at this point of possible attendees? Anyone keeping up with this? I think that there are enough rooms there for everyone who wants to stay for free, but we might have to double up in the rooms.

Urban 15 is at 2500 S. Presa, San Antonio, TX 78210 TEL 210-736-1500. My Christmas shows there are Dec. 6 - 10, with evening shows Dec. 9-10; I usually try to do something creative in the evening shows.

I suggest donating $25 to Urban 15 for this. We have not organized anything beyond this.

MasterPJ, I have not used Protize Max beyond a few experiments in 1995. They did add an anaglyph output for me to program in realtime laser 3D, though! I am getting an upgrade to my DSP in Berlin next week, which should enable me to use it again. We'll see.

    Tim,

No problem - glad we could help. Have fun in Moscow! We'll get a visit to Urban 15 in prior to TEXLEM when you have time. Let me know if I can help out for anything near Houston - I'll definitely want to check out Memorial City and Pearland.

As far as attendees go (tentative)...

    Swamidog
    MasterPJ
    opcom
    Jooopy
    LaserWizard
    Hakzaw1
    Platinum
    Sugeek
    Displaser

I'm hoping that others will attend...

    Aixiz
    LaserChuck
    Clandestiny (if in town)
    MisterWilling
    DJMikeT

And any/all other PL members that are interested!

I'd think we will have at least 10 attending. I'm still checking into options for the shirts, badges, etc. We could aim for a $50-60 fee from all PL members attending, allowing for a shirt, meal and the donation to Urban 15. Maybe the group can head down to the riverwalk for one evening if there is enough interest? More information to follow!

    Thanks,
    Greg

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    @ opcom,

LEMs are two or more laser ethuasists gathering together to share the joys of laser shows to loud music with fog.(to put it in the most simple terms)
Projectors are linked together and several shows made by thier owners are displayed for us in a unique and private setting. We all sign waivers and are each responsible for our own safety.

There is often an area set aside for BS&T. Usually done on a sort of honor system. Great deals are often gotten on laser related items.

Doorprizes are sometimes donated and are often very cool things to win. Short LEMs can pop-up and be only for a day. SELEM, one of the biggest, and best organized lasted three days this year. (thanks to Buffo et al) Attendees and thier guests were close to 100 for SELEM V.

LEMs take place all around the world.

New ideas are shared many questions get asked and graciously answered. Friendships are started that will be extremely helpful in your laser future. They are very often an excellant photo op.
At some you get to see lasers upclose and ones that you may never see again. You will leave with a head full of ideas and projects ....AND NOT ONCE WILL YOU BE ASKED "WHY LASERS?"

WARNING ---LEMS can be even more addicting than lasers. Many leave thier first LEM with RGB projector on the brain. Start saving up your $$$ now!

ps =SAFETY is taken very seriously --please keep that in mind.

Greg- I like your ideas-- 50$ or 60$ sounds great for what we get in return. The guys of URBAN 15 have offered us a great venue and we need to make them glad they invited us. All who can, please come early for set-up , stay after for clean-up OR both. Post your ideas for TEXLEM 2012 logos/shirt designs etc, in this thread. Someone needs to print up nametags for each attendee and thier guests. Menus need to be made for the meals we can do at the venue. Better food at a better price. More time for more shows if we stay at the venue as much as possible.

Coordination of equipment offered and needed will take place. Its a group effort and there is a job for everyone.

    see you at a LEM....hak(len)

    ....

last year at SELEM IV there was a pj on a piece of plywood.

We(everybody attending) sign the waivers so all can bring whatever they want. Even half finished work. Or no laser at all. Guests are welcome, small children may not be the greatest idea tho. Too many dangerous things.

You're Welcome. Probably unbeknownst to-you, Sire, I've sent quite a few 'leads' / recommendations your-way in the past-few weeks... I sincerely hope you booked them all.

I'd love to come-out for this and - likewise - be schooled in 'all-things DSP'... But, alas, I am pretty-sure we will be saturated at this point in Feb... got a Floyd-tribute band show that very-weekend, if-nothing else... So... ??? But, we'll see... if I can ensure things for that show will be 'fully autonomous-enough', I just might fight to make it out...

    Will keep in touch...
