Thanks for this great answer! OK, please add to the list of planned attendees - my friend and apprentice, Jacob. (not a member here at this time) We can share a room as well. No problem to pay the suggested costs shown already. I really want this to be an education experience for him.
A job for everyone seems like good fun. Here's what we have serious experience with:
Opcom:
- Field Application Engineer, analog and power/industrial @ semiconductor company (currently)
- Electronics Technician and Field Engineer, hardware hacker
- C4I (computers/communications/command/control) NCO in the Texas State Guard for 9 years. Personal experience there for both disasters and public events, organizing and running ad-hoc radio communications nets of 50-100 military police and public affairs users. (Two other guys in our team handled the computers.)
- Mains power -DC and AC single and 3 phase to 480V including generated power.
Jacob:
- Electronics hobbyist, Tesla coils & general high voltage equipment
- College student - electronics and physics
But we are willing to volunteer for jobs that fit the event needs so never mind that stuff unless it is useful.
My only real limits are the back and knees. haha I am old but I still know how to enjoy.
I drive an F-550 2-ton flatbed so if anything special needs hauled from Dallas.. just consider it is not a very smooth ride so crate well.
