Thanks for this great answer! OK, please add to the list of planned attendees - my friend and apprentice, Jacob. (not a member here at this time) We can share a room as well. No problem to pay the suggested costs shown already. I really want this to be an education experience for him.

A job for everyone seems like good fun. Here's what we have serious experience with:

    Opcom:
    - Field Application Engineer, analog and power/industrial @ semiconductor company (currently)
    - Electronics Technician and Field Engineer, hardware hacker
    - C4I (computers/communications/command/control) NCO in the Texas State Guard for 9 years. Personal experience there for both disasters and public events, organizing and running ad-hoc radio communications nets of 50-100 military police and public affairs users. (Two other guys in our team handled the computers.)
    - Mains power -DC and AC single and 3 phase to 480V including generated power.

    Jacob:
    - Electronics hobbyist, Tesla coils & general high voltage equipment
    - College student - electronics and physics

But we are willing to volunteer for jobs that fit the event needs so never mind that stuff unless it is useful.
My only real limits are the back and knees. haha I am old but I still know how to enjoy.

I drive an F-550 2-ton flatbed so if anything special needs hauled from Dallas.. just consider it is not a very smooth ride so crate well.

    @opcom-- yer hired!!

Any help you can offer would be great, IMHO. ATM its looks like Greg 'Displaser' will back up the very busy Tim Walsh and the rest of us back-up Greg. We always have Buffo to help guide us via the net and phone and if we are very lucky he may join us as a guest.

    to all...
He (Adam) encouraged me to have a go at hosting a mini LEM (STEXLEM I in Freeport Tx)and his experience, and advice to me, made the experience so much easier. We had a blast and enjoyed 6 hours of programmed show and some freestyle on the fly lasering by Evil300 and Platinum. We scored the MT warehouse for $150 for three days.

As it was a pop-up and very short notice the turnout was small but my friends who attended no longer ask me 'Whats up with you and those damn lasers?'

Some may be making a run to URBAN 15 to see the venue and Tim's Christmas Laser show. Also IIRC a show by Tim will be happening near me in Pearland Tx. I will be at that one-- anyone want to join me (& Greg for sure)?

    @ hakzaw1,

@ opcom ^^^ By all means bring a table full of stuff And no real need to babysit your items we all keep an eye on the goods and problems are very rare and lots of items get BS orT. Pricetags can be put on your stuff and buyers just find you at the LEM and do the deal.

You may want to bring your own folding table and chairs-put your name on everything.

Bring Jacob and anyone else that would enjoy the super shows at TEXLEM,

Prolly should also bring sleeping bags/ air mattresses etc.

Bring grub that is cooked and can be reheated or stuff for a small charcoal grill.

There will later be a list of equipment needed and offered.

POST your logo designs here for the shirts. Winner of the design contest gets a big pat on the back and a few 'attaboys'

Once I see he set-up at URBAN 15 we will know what else will be needed for my FOODY CREW.

PERSONALLY I would like to not need to leave the venue until its time to go home.

    BRING YOUR CAMERAS!!!!!

A list will also be started for items being brought for BS&T. Dibbs can be placed in advance.

I will be selling a complete SL Argon Plug and Play.

    and a lot more.
I will take orders for ANYTHING sold by AixiZ. I bring with and you pay cash at TEXLEM no tax or ship fees.

Items can be donated for the doorprizes...

questions should be sent to Displaser or me or posted here..... If we can't answer them they will then go to Tim.

    tick tock
only 84 days to go..... PLAN NOW!!!

Atendance fee and shirt sizes need to be in asap.

subscribe to this thread to keep informed.

Any laser games people have come up with at past LEM's? Best bounce mirror aim? thinking points on the wall to attempt to hit in a first shot type of thing holding a mirror or even software maybe. Stuff like that....? Looking for fun stuff for when I host the a SF meet.

At SELEM they give out awards in the form of medals on a ribbon. Catgories are things like .'Smallest Projector',
'Most miles traveled to attend' ' Bestshow' etc.
I went home with one... Most Getto Projector.. for my Lumia Box ...and yea, thats how they spelled it,, I was thinking of adding 'ff' to it .

    Most Gettoff Projector

Having some nice doorprizes for a drawing towards the end of the event is well liked.

For me its mostly all about the shows and meeting the makers.

Guess you could do LaserTag or balloon pop-off -----J/K lol

Hope you have a great LEM....hak

Still not sure if I can make this or not, but I'm trying!

Just a thought: If you're interested in shirts, check out 4imprint.com. They've got some good prices on embroidered and silk-screened shirts.
