    New, new release!

    http://laserboy.org/code/LaserBoy_2012_11_11.zip

Fixed a glitch in the dxf directory opening code and some other fine details.

If this update causes any problems, please let me know!

All software has a learning curve usually proportional to its capabilities and unique features. Pointing with a mouse is in no way easier than tapping a key.

I just made a new single line vector font for LaserBoy.

DL this and put it inside the ild folder inside your LaserBoy folder and use it to render text.

According to the Internet Wayback Machine, LaserBoy had a previous life...

Drag your mouse over the character for a greeting.

That's Laserboy. My application and related technology is LaserBoy! (Note the capital L and the capital B!)

Oops. I just noticed this font file is not fully cooked. It needs to be tweaked a bit. The individual segments need to be bonded with black lines, not blanking, so each glyph is seen as one lit segment.

Open it in LaserBoy and go into menu h.

Hit ) (shift zero) to convert all blank lines to lit black.

[esc] back to the main menu.
Go into menu x and turn off option a so that it does not automatically minimize the frame set on saving.

[esc] back to the main menu and save the whole set of frames...

    o to output
    1 for ILDA
    3 for all frames
give it the same name (font_simple_vector.ild)
hit y to allow overwriting the file of the same name.

    That's it.

This font works nicely in both fixed width and variable width placement.

Very nice! Have you put anymore thought into allowing live playback (instead of saving as wav and playing that)?

LaserBoy Live playback would have to be a completely different app.

It might use content created in the current version of LaserBoy.

But first I would need to figure out how to directly communicate with a multi-channel sound device, in any OS.

The answer to this seems to be the Jack Audio Interface.

I just haven't messed with it yet, but I have an idea of how it works.
