Yeah the higher magnification needs a shorter beam path, my beam paths are 42mm to the first cylinder, gives an output of 4mm x 4mm @ 1.05mrad

To save confusion between the two diodes, I started a second thread for the P73. When I start to test them I will post the data there.

If anyone already has P73 Test Data, Please add it.

I don't think anybody here has a P73. If they do, they're being very closed-mouth about it.. wait.. you're going to start testing them Andy ?? Have you ordered some from somewhere ???

    -- edit -- Oh, you're talking about the $300 diodes I guess.. (?)

Wow .. cool .. I looked at the lpf thread a while back about the P73 and they were impressed with the overdriving capabilities of it, saying that it was even more robust than the G71s.. Pix and powers when ya' get em pleez

if we could get a stable 1W per diode that would be godly.
Then a quad build would get you 4W of 635nm
This would make a 10W projector a possibility for us small guys.
Well besides the fact that we would need around 2W of 532nm that will cost about 2,000$
But cheap red and blue now!

Fun with blue/green and red tonite

    Woo-Hoo !!!

    That's like .. 2 Watts there .. never thought I'd see the day ..

_edit-, this does have some relevance to this thread ... That's just (1) G-71 and 2 duals of 445 and 532 ..
(the 445/532 does burn the ole hand quicker than the 638 buttt still ..
    funz ..

Yikes...every time I take pics....it looks like yer lookin thru eyeballs that have been in the swimming pool with excess Chlorine !!! or....the beams are almost in the invisible portion of the spectrum....yet, things look good in person !! ?? Probobally has something tado with exposure, fstops....and all that rot !!!

Yes... The 6X C-Lenses crack the whip even better on these beasty G71's !!! It has only taken 6 months (Wow....we are on the other side of the Sun by now !! haha)...and over 1000 posts...Epic to some....likely boring to some others !!!

THANX to all that guided and propelled our joint progress !! Thanx to Mitsui !!!
As I have said B4....we ALL stand on each others shoulders !!! Now...on to projector integration, Multidiode set-ups and the P73 !! It just NEVER ends !!!
